Usher’s Ex On Son’s Near-Drowning: ‘How Did This Happen?’

The day after her son with (Usher was released from an Atlanta hospital following a life-threatening pool accident, Tameka Foster Raymond spoke out about the incident on "Good Morning America."

"I was mad because I was like,' how did this happen?'" Foster Raymond said. "Who was watching him? Why was my son under water for nearly three minutes?"

Usher Raymond V, who landed in the ICU after nearly drowning while trying to retrieve a toy from a pool drain, "is going to be just fine," a source close to Usher told People magazine. The 5-year-old was reportedly sitting up, smiling and eating in his hospital bed just days after the accident, which took place while Usher was not at home.

Foster said she was at a dental appointment when Usher called to tell her about the near drowning. And, because her ex doesn't call her very often, she immediately grabbed her phone, figuring that the singer was calling to discuss their children. A year after her 11-year-old son from a different marriage died in a Jet skiing accident, Foster Raymond said she feared the worst.

"It was like I re-lived it ... my brain went into all those modes," she said about the call from Usher. "I even said on the phone, 'I've had this call before ... I didn't blame [Usher] for it. I was just angry that It happened on his watch. Because while accidents happen, never have my children been injured on my watch."

Lady Gaga Gets Naked For ‘V’ Magazine, Preps ‘Applause’ Lyric Vid

When Lady Gaga went dark to recuperate from hip surgery, she went all the way away. But with the countdown clock to the November 11 release of ARTPOP ticking, Gaga has exploded from hiding with the kind of Gagalanche of creativity that we expect from Mother Monster.

It's only Wednesday, and the week already seems like ground zero for the ARTPOP-apalooza we can expect over the next few months. In addition to quashing a budding media-spawned fake feud
with Katy Perry, Gaga grabbed headlines (and eyeballs) with a stunning series of images form the upcoming issue of V magazine.

Along with an interview by collaborator performance artist Marina Abramović in the issue
, the cover of the magazine contains a striking topless image of Gaga in black rocker wig and sparkly cropped jacket, with one hand cupping her left breast. Inside there's a fully topless photo with Gaga wearing only a white tank top around her midsection and another with a sideboob view.

Earlier in the week, she tweeted about the shoot for the
lyric video, which went down at famed Hollywood gay nightclub Micky's. According to E! Online, after alerting her fans to the shoot, the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performer got to the club around 11:15 p.m. and stayed for nearly an hour.

Wandering around the bar with a few bodyguards, Gaga filmed the crowd, encouraged them to clap and filmed two fans who showed up with their faces covered in smeared painted similar to the cover of the ...

Actress Hana Mae Lee, who played quiet, quirky student Lilly in the 2012 comedy, gave MTV News the details during Sunday's Teen Choice Awards, where the musical movie won four surfboards.

You know, for our 'Pitch Perfect' soundtrack, it's all a cappella — even the percussion. It's all us, so it's going to be sweet though because it's going to sound like there's other things, but it's all us."

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control’ Verse: What We Learned

Kendrick Lamar shook up the rap world with his ear-popping verse on Big Sean's but while boasts of being king of both coasts and verbal warnings were issued to friends like Drake, J. Cole and Big Sean dominated the conversation, K-Dot's 64-bar rap marathon were packed with tons of goodies.

Now that we've had some time to sit with the epic verse, which dropped on Monday, MTV News examines the highlights. Here's what we learned.

Tupac Taught Me
What made the good kid go mad? It's hard to say. "Control" doesn't seem to be a beef record per se, but like the late Tupac, Kendrick spits with a competitive fire; he wasn't shy about calling out his targets by name either. Through it all he even makes reference to 'Pac's Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory album where he changed his name to Makaveli and took aim at everyone from the Notorious B.I.G. to De La Soul. "I'm Makaveli's offspring, I'm the king of New York," Lamar spits drawing clear comparisons to the fallen rap star.

Hey New York, Kendrick Claims The West Coast Crown Too
Sure Big Apple MCs took exception when Kendrick claimed the coveted "King of New York" title, but how do Cali spitters feel now that Dot also crowned himself king of the west? "I'm the king of New York/ King of the coast, one hand, I juggle both," he brags. Will any left coast spitters step up to the plate?

Dot Really Doesn't Like Molly
The good kid, m.A.A.d. city lyricist ...

Lady Gaga Vs. Katy Perry: Why The A-POP-Calypse Means We All Win

First, the a-POP-calypse was advancing. Then, it was averted. But now that Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have dropped singles on the same day — within 13 hours of each other — it's probably time to go all once again ... because surely, the end is nigh.

Yet, 24 hours after the battle between and officially began, there have been no casualties, and fans are crawling out of their bunkers to discover that the pop landscape remains intact. It's almost as if the supposed war between Katy and Gaga was nothing more than — gasp! — a storyline created solely by the media, and, more importantly, that no matter how deep our desire to declare a winner in this conflict, there probably won't be one.

That's not entirely correct, mind you. There will be download figures to report, and first-week album sales to compare, and music videos to analyze ... someone will come out on top. But that's taking the short-sighted approach, focusing on a few rather unimportant aspects of a much larger picture: that the real winner in all this is you.

Because you are a fan of pop music. And for too long, pop music has been polite, with releases strategically staked months in to maximize profit margins and superstars performing elaborate footwork routines to avoid stepping on each other's (well-manicured) toes. Things have gotten pretty boring. Turns out, a little head-to-head competition is all we needed. It's unlikely that Katy heard Gaga's new song before it hit the airwaves (and ...
