Vin Diesel Teases Big Marvel News During ‘Riddick’ Panel

Universal's "Kick-Ass 2" and "Comic-Con peeps assembled in Hall H, but thanks to one sly audience member's turn at the microphone, a bit of Marvel movie news was unleashed.

Marvel Universe fanatics have been abuzz ever since Vin Diesel tweeted about his clandestine meeting with the House of Ideas. He posted a tantalizing picture of him standing in front of a poster featuring 1963's "Avengers" #2 comic. Was that an "Avengers 2" hint? Was the "Fast & Furious" star directing folks to the image of Giant-Man? Or was the clue buried in the text of the tweet itself? "I get tunnel vision with my work... and after that meeting today... wow!"

Moderator Drew McWeeny from Hitfix was wrapping up the "Riddick" panel when Diesel insisted they take one more question from an audience member. A super fit looking young man in a skintight Iron Man shirt stepped to the mic and pointed out how Diesel is always the "face" of a franchise. "So, what is your 'Vision' for the Marvel movies?"

The crowd, naturally, roared their approval of the question. Diesel smiled widely and fidgeted in his chair. "Why did I have to say 'one last question'?" he wondered aloud. "And he asked the one question I'm not supposed to talk about."

The crowd wasn't letting him off the hook that easily. They kept cheering.

"What I will say," he began, as anticipation mounted, "there is some very big news coming at the end of this month."

After that, McWeeny wrapped it up for real. "Poor Marvel, poor, poor, Marvel," Diesel said, laughing.

‘Fault In Our Stars’ Actors Are BFFs: Our ‘Chemistry Was Perfect’

"Cancer books suck," declares the 16-year-old protagonist of John Green's affecting work "The Fault in Our Stars." But, alas, Hazel Grace Lancaster has never read the tear-jerking novel, which took the literary world by storm in 2012, earning a spot as Time magazine's #1 book of the year.

The story follows cancer patient Hazel Grace as she meets and falls in love with a fellow support group member, Augustus Waters. A big-screen adaptation is currently in the works with two YA-fluent actors already in place: "Divergent" co-stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort (they play siblings in the 2014 dystopian drama).

When Elgort stopped by MTV's Comic-Con live stream to talk all things "Divergent," we couldn't help but wonder if his experience on set with Woodley aided the "TFiOS" audition process.

"I'm sure it helped," Elgort said with a grin. "We were already becoming best friends on this film, and then I tested in L.A. with her for that, and the chemistry was perfect. We're both so excited to do it."

The process of bringing these beloved characters to life will be a heady one — one from all accounts Elgort is ready for.

"We're going to visit some cancer hospitals and talk with kids and patients who've had the same things our characters have had," he said of prepping for the upcoming shoot. "We're going to probably go and meet with John Green in Indiana and see the Funky Bones and the other different places in the book. It's really exciting. The process is going to be great. We're really ...

George Zimmerman Was In ‘God’s Hands,’ Webbie Believes

While opinions vary, the majority of hip-hop artists who have voiced their opinions on George Zimmerman's not guilty verdict in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin disagree with the jury's decision. Webbie doesn't say that he thinks Zimmerman is innocent, but he doesn't wish jail upon him either.

"I can't see me saying, 'Man y'all should put him in jail'... No I'm gonna leave that to God's hands," the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, rapper told MTV News on Thursday. "God blessed him. God watched him and God didn't want to put him in there with the animals in the jungle."

Webbie often refers to and gives thanks to a higher power, even if his series of Savage Life albums don't exactly qualify as gospel music. His Trill Entertainment labelmate and close friend Lil Boosie was indicted on a first-degree murder charge in 2010 and is currently serving time, so Webbie is quite sympathetic to prisoners behind bars. "A lot of people should be able to come home from jail and get another chance," he argued. "A lot of people, a lot of people, and I'm not just talkin' about my brother, I'm talkin' about a lot of people man."

On Wednesday, host Sway Calloway gathered Wyclef Jean, Prodigy, political activist Kevin Powell and defense attorney Stacey Richman for a very special episode of MTV News' weekly hip-hop show. They all urged the youth to get involved with their local government to force change in the judicial system. "What should young people do? We should challenge ALEC (American Legislative Exchange ...

One Direction’s ‘Best Song Ever’: Who’s Hottest In Disguise?

We may never know what song inspired One Direction's new single but we do know that the guys will be playing characters in the video. And we are getting some early glimpses of the fab fivesome's alter egos in the visual, which premieres on Monday.

While it's interesting to see all of the guys rock old-man makeup and bald caps to play various movers and shakers in what appears to be a Hollywood-themed video, Zayn Malik's makeover is perhaps the most surprising. Why? Well, he'll play a woman in the clip.

Zayn
The true identity of Zayn in drag has yet to be revealed, but his wigged-out appearance was teased in a clip on Friday (July 19), the same day the track got its first radio play.

Niall
Niall Horan plays Harvey, a ginger-bearded record exec with a receding hairline. Horan suits up with jacket and tie... and a little extra padding around the gut.

Louis
Louis Tomlinson is Johnny, another record exec lacking in the hair department. With a gold chain and furry chest, Johnny looks like quite the charmer.

Harry
Harry Styles will play a marketing guru named Marcel. Who else could rock the sweater vest and nerd glasses? With a little less makeup than Niall and Louis, Directioners can still see Harry's signature mug through the disguise.

Liam
Liam Payne gets a blond wig and pink headband for his character, Leeroy, a choreographer. And it gets better... there's leg warmers involved.

off the guys' third album, reportedly scheduled to ...

‘Mortal Instruments’ Audition: Find Out Why It Was So ‘Awkward’

To hear "The Mortal Instruments" author Cassandra Clare enthuse about actor Jamie Campbell Bower's audition for Shadowhunter Jace Wayland, you'd think his performance were ordained by the angels above. But as the 24-year-old told MTV News during our San Diego Comic-Con live stream, he was much less confident about his prospects when he showed up to read opposite already-cast star Lily Collins.

"For me, going into that room, where you [Lily] had already been cast — it's such a big deal going in for a screen test for a major movie. I went on to the lot, and there I am on the lot going for an audition, and I was going, 'Oh god, this is just going to be a disaster,' " he recalled. "I didn't feel right for it at all."

But that all changed the minute he met Collins, who inspired an immediate ease within the actor.

"And then the moment I got there, I felt sort of comfortable around you. I felt really just sort of like we'd known each other for years," he said.

In a curious twist, Collins had actually been pushing for Bower to play her sexy-snarky love interest in the urban fantasy from the very beginning.

"I thought I had known him for years," Collins concurred of the meeting. "Jamie had been someone I, from the get-go when they asked me about casting Jace, had put forward from day one. And before he even walked in the room, in my mind, I was really set on this guy coming in and blowing it ...

‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’: Inside Dane DeHaan And Jamie Foxx’s Bromance

SAN DIEGO— "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," one of the big movies taking the stage at Comic-Con this year, will introduce the world to a deep friendship, but it's not the one that fans might be expecting.

It's true that Peter Parker's childhood friend, Harry Osborn, will be returning from boarding school in the sequel due out next year, but it's the bromance between the actor playing Harry, Dane DeHaan, and the actor playing the movie's villain, Jamie Foxx, that we keep hearing about.

During Josh Horowitz's interview with Foxx at the , the actor couldn't help but share his enthusiasm for DeHaan, and he kept sharing again and again. So Josh just had to ask DeHaan what was up.

"He really likes me. We just had a lot of fun together," DeHaan said. "He just took a big liking to me our first day on set together. I'm very flattered, and I think he's amazing too. Watch out for that Jamie Foxx. He's going to go places, and he's going to do things. I have a feeling."

Foxx wasn't the only person DeHaan impressed over the course of making "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Getting the role of Harry was not easy and involved a lengthy audition process. "It was this long, intense, drawn-out process where at three different points I was convinced it was all over and it wasn't happening," he said. "They just kept popping back up and popping back up. Ultimately, it ends with a big test, which is pretty nerve-racking. You know you're in this big competition essentially, ...

Victoria Justice Says ‘Victorious’ Was ‘Great Practice’ For Debut Album

This summer, a new batch of pop princesses is out to claim their rightful places among some of the more-established chart queens in the genre like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. Two of the biggest contenders happen to be graduates from the school of

After the Nick sitcom wrapped up earlier this year, both Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande set off to record debut albums. Justice explained to MTV News what it was about the series that spurred so much musical creativity from the two multi-hyphenate performers.

"We're all very musical people, so I think it was just natural for us to want to put out our own music," Justice said. "And 'Victorious' was great practice for me. I had never really sung professionally until 'Victorious,' so it was great experience. It was great practice being in the studio, performing on the show, and it was just a lot of fun.

"And I actually wrote three songs that ended up on the show, which was very cool," she explained. "So that was really exciting. I think it really just set me up in the right way to be able to do both [acting and singing]. I'm passionate about both."

Justice just dropped her video for "Gold," serving as a tease for her own album, set to debut later this year. She said that with her teen-queen days behind her, she's ready to make a more grownup statement and that she's been given a lot of freedom to do so. "I'm in creative control. I'm steering the ship," ...

Robin Thicke Pours ‘Brown Liquor’ Into Icona Pop’s ‘I Love It’

Who knew that you could take a song as synthy and dance-floor ready as Icona Pop's breakup anthem and transform it into a soulful ballad full of longing and passion? Well, crooner Robin Thicke, that's who.

During a recent appearance on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, the VMA-nominated singer decided to put his R&B spin on the Swedish duo's breakout hit, slowing it down, adding his signature falsetto and making some key lyrical edits along the way — for instance, "I'm from the '70s, but you're a '90s chick."

While the track might seem like an unusual choice for the "Blurred Lines" singer to tackle, he told MTV News that after an initial listen, he found he could relate to what the ladies have to say on the jam. "The funny thing is, I heard the song a week earlier, before the Icona Pop cover. And they ask you when you do this show ... to do a song that's within the Top 40 at the moment. And I thought, 'What about that song?' 'Cause I thought the lyrics were very fitting to my relationship," recalled Thicke, who is married to actress Paula Patton.

He continued, with a laugh, " 'Crash my car into a bridge,' it's a metaphor. I've been there many times in my relationship, so I felt like burning clothes and throwing things down stairs, crashing into a bridge — that's all me, very me — and still loving it."

While Thicke is a bit regretful he didn't get the chance to record it ...

A$AP Ferg Explains ‘Very Rare’ Shabba Ranks Cameo, Frame By Frame

There were a few things that A$AP Ferg wanted to accomplish with the video for his new single, "Shabba." Of course the Harlem native wanted to continue to establish himself as a rap star, but he also wanted to spotlight his entire A$AP crew and finally pay homage to dancehall legend Shabba Ranks, who he named the song after.

Shabba's 1990s reggae reign with songs like "Mr. Loverman," "Trailer Load a Girls" and "Ting-a-Ling" may predate A$AP's rise by nearly two decades, but Ferg was still able to bridge the generation gap and get the Jamaican-born star to appear in his vid.

"That's actually the real Shabba Ranks, live in effect right here," Ferg told MTV News on Thursday when he sat down and gave us a frame-by-frame breakdown of the video he premiered earlier this week.

The vid was shot by A$AP Rocky in a Yonkers, New York, mansion, and during one scene, Ferg and his Harlem crew are having a house party in what is supposed to be Shabba's home, without his knowledge, so when Ranks returns, he is plenty surprised.

"We found him — it's very rare, man. Our peoples reached out to his peoples and we finally got a hold of the legend," Ferg said of how the whole thing came together.

The "Shabba" track will appear on Ferg's debut album, Trap Lord, and is as rambunctious as his first single, "Work." What sets this new song apart, however, is Ferg's distinct Caribbean bounce. "Two shots to a bumbaclot mon/ Shabba Ranks, let it go in ya brain," ...
