SAN DIEGO — One of the reasons that San Diego Comic-Con has grown so enormous in the past few years is that the studios realize that the show is direct line to the most passionate fans, and an impressive showing in Hall H can all but guarantee good buzz. A new poster showing just a portion of Godzilla's tail and a piece of concept art featuring the monster attacking an aircraft carrier are now online, but the buzz in San Diego around the remake began even earlier. The big green lizard has been all over San Diego in the days leading up to Comic-Con. A warehouse across from the convention center stands scarred with enormous claw marks, and a viral campaign online teased "something" heading toward the west coast. As MTV Geek reported earlier in the week, that warehouse holds an immersive experience and museum for fans who want to live through a Godzilla attack themselves and explore the storied history of the movie icon. You can head over to MTV Geek to read their entire report from the Godzilla Experience. The new poster for "Godzilla" tells us a number of things about the movie, even if it doesn't appear to be showing much. First of all, Godzilla is big. All you have to do is compare the tail to the surrounding helicopters to see that. Secondly, the design hews much closer to the monster's original design than what we saw in the remake starring Matthew Broderick. The same can ...

In Trayvon Martin Aftermath, Rappers Plead For ‘More Love’
After George Zimmerman was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, President Obama asked the nation to "respect the call for calm" and, among other things, to help "stem the tide of gun violence" in the U.S.
Wyclef Jean agreed, saying it starts within local communities. "We say to ourselves that we have so much gun violence in the communities, but we are not asking ourselves, who is the man behind the curtain? Who lifts the curtain, drops the guns and runs off?" he said on Wednesday's "RapFix Live," noting that while impoverished inner cities surely suffer from gun violence, its residents aren't the economic force behind the distribution of arms.
"Economically, if you do the math, the youth never have that much money to purchase the amount of arms that you see in the ghetto automatically," he argued.
While 'Clef noted that the number of guns in the ghetto is indeed problematic, so is the mentality in the communities, he explained. "The first thing that we need to do is huddle as communities and talk how can we start showing each other more love as communities. How can we as sets, start respecting each other more in different sets?" he asked, recognizing the different and sometimes-opposing gang factions like Bloods and Crips. "How do we protect our communities in a non-violent way?"
Martin's death had nothing to do with gang violence or black-on-black crime, and while many suspect there were racial motivations behind the tragic incident, a juror on the case told CNN reporter Anderson ...

The train pulls into San Diego on Thursday (July 18) afternoon, with studio Summit Entertainment debuting the first footage from its dystopian drama during a panel at Comic-Con — which will also include author Veronica Roth, director Neil Burger and stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Ansel Elgort, Mekhi Phifer, Ben Lamb, Ben Lloyd-Hughes and Christian Madsen.
The film is set in a near-future Chicago, in which society has been divided into five factions, each upholding a specific virtue. There's Abnegation, the selfless; Erudite, the intelligent; Dauntless, the brave; Amity, the peaceful; and Candor, the honest. Each citizen is tested at the age of 16 and must decide which faction they will join. Against this backdrop we meet protagonist Beatrice Prior, an Abnegation-raised teen, who after receiving inconclusive results from her testing, decides to leave home and join up with the daring Dauntless.
Roth's New York Times best-seller has earned itself a legion of fans, many of whom are no doubt eager to see how their beloved tale will be translate to the big screen. What scene will Initiate's be treated to at the Con? We can't say for sure, but here are five MTV News hopes to sneak peek during the panel.
The Choosing Ceremony
One of the first pivotal moments in "Divergent," Tris (still known by her given name Beatrice) makes the surprise decision to join up with the Dauntless, which she indicates by slicing her flesh and letting her blood drip onto lit coals. How's that for dramatic?

‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Clip: Jamie Foxx’s Electro Arrives
If Peter Parker thought the Lizard was bad, wait until he gets a load of Electro.
The electrically-charged Max Dillon is at the heart of a new viral video for director Marc Webb's sequel to last summer's "Spider-Man" reboot. Oscar winner Jamie Foxx stars in the superhero movie as the blue-hued bad guy — and after seeing him in round after round of promotional images, we're now seeing the man in action.
"I can feel it in the walls. I can feel it in my veins," Foxx's villain drones in the video, his voice deep and soaked in pain, almost to the point that you can't understand what he's saying. "No matter what you do, you can't contain it."
The camera pans over various pieces of lab equipment and wires. Ultimately, the shot pulls back to reveal Electro strapped in a mechanical harness, eyes closed, as if he's just transformed into his terrifying and electrifying new persona.
"You want to know how powerful I am? Well, I want to know, too," he growls. "I'm Electro."
The video ends with the words "Electro arrives," and the promise of more information at the "Amazing Spider-Man 2" panel at Comic-Con's Hall H on Friday (July 19).
In previous interviews with MTV News, Foxx has explained that Electro isn't just a murderous mastermind. He starts out as Max Dillon, a geeky scientist with terrible hair and no recognition for his scientific genius. His confidence gets a boost when he first encounters Spider-Man.
"Spider-Man bumps into him and says, 'You're my guy. You're my eyes and ears on the ...

Lorde is cooler than you. Not only does she name-drop the likes of Nick Drake and SBTRKT as influences, her first song was inspired by Larry Clark's 1995 dark coming-of-age tale "Kids," which, coincidentally, was shot before she was born. That's right, this erudite and articulate songstress is no weathered and weary musician who's jaded by years in the biz — she's just 16 years old. And despite her soon-to-be-status as "the next big thing," she's no manufactured pop princess either.
"I've always written. I wrote short stories until I was about 13 and then messed around with songwriting until I got a bit better," Lorde, a.k.a. Ella Yelich-O'Connor, told MTV News of her budding and oh-so promising music career. "[My first song] was called 'Dope Ghost.' I had just watched that Larry Clark movie 'Kids' and I thought it was rad. I think it was poking fun at this girl in my year who was kind of going off the rails."
Yelich-O'Connor, who grew up on Auckland's North Shore with a Neil Young-loving father and a poet for a mother, first caught the ear of the music world at a talent show when she was 12 years old. "It was my intermediate school talent show, so it was very low-key, just in my school hall," Lorde said. "I sang 'Warwick Avenue' by Duffy."
Although she never posted a video to YouTube — this isn't a Justin Bieber kind of fairy tale — footage of the show somehow found its way to her now-manager, Scott Maclachlan, which led to the tween to ...

How do you top a video as viral and as topless as Robin Thicke's VMA-nominated ? The R&B star knows that it's all about going big — like, White House big — or going home when it comes to prepping ideas for "Give It 2 U."
"We're gonna have to see if President Obama will be in it," Thicke joked to MTV News on Wednesday, the same day he found out for three Moonmen at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, taking place August 25, live from Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
"I don't know how you can top 'Blurred Lines.' Either that, or maybe we just won't make a video at all. Just disappear on top," he added. "It's like winning the championship in your last season. Why play again?"
The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards: Complete List of Nominees!
If the president is too busy to make it to the shoot (which, let's be honest, will likely be the case), Thicke does have 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar already locked in, calling their contributions to the track "exciting." And, if they want to make their turns in the "Give It 2 U" video as memorable as Pharrell and T.I. in the "Blurred Lines" clip, the crooner has a quite wet and wild idea. But, it likely means they'll be the ones shirtless this time around.
"We're thinking about coming up with a synchronized swimming thing, where 2 Chainz and Kendrick do some leg kicks and maybe some flips in the water," Thicke joked. "I don't know if they're down ...

Cory Monteith Remembered By ‘Glee’ Co-Stars Dianna Agron, Jane Lynch
The death of "Glee" star Cory Monteith has unleashed an outpouring of grief and support from fans of the show, as well as the late actor's castmates.
The latest to weigh in was Jane Lynch. The actress, who plays head cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on the show, got emotional when talking about Monteith during an appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on Wednesday night.
"Cory's one of the biggest hearts, was a real bright light. He was one of those guys that ... he knew he was breathing rarified air," she said, her voice breaking at times. "The gifts that this wonderful show gave us ... He was always aware that it was a gift and he was quite generous. He was one of those adventurous types of those people. I always admired how he would get up...you know, he would fly to Mexico, he'd throw parties for his friends. I don't think he left one day unlived. He was a real bright light in our family and we've lost a really great guy."
An autopsy report found that Monteith, 31, died of a mixed drug toxicity involving heroin and alcohol. His body was discovered in his hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver on Saturday after he missed his checkout time.
Monteith recently completed his second stint in rehab tied to an ongoing struggle with drugs and alcohol. In April, Monteith voluntarily checked into a facility to deal with an unspecified substance abuse issue.
