Adam Sandler Titled ‘Grown Ups 2’ Because It’s ‘Easy To Spell’

Sequels to popular films often get big changes in their titles — whether it's a fancy colon and a subtitle ("Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Man's Chest"), a few additional words ("A Good Day To Die Hard") or just a new noun ("Monster's University). But Adam Sandler said when naming their latest film, they just tacked on a 2 to get "Grown Ups 2" because of some remarkably simple logic.

"It was the easiest to spell," Sandler told MTV News' Josh Horowitz. Sandler also revealed that it was one of his longtime colleagues who came up with "Grown Ups," after they struggled to find a name for the original movie. "Colin Quinn came up with the title for 'Grown Ups.' He sure did — we didn't know what to call it. In the beginning it was just called 'The Lake Movie.' "

David Spade, who co-starred in both films with Sandler, said that he had an alternate suggestion he thought would have been good. "My idea was Spade and friends," he said. But Sandler explained that they jettisoned that idea: "Yeah, yeah, yeah, But it didn't test well," Sandler said.

Horowitz asked castmembers Sandler, Spade, Kevin James and Salma Hayek what were the ingredients of a good sequel. James' answer was surprising: "Butter," he said. "Cocoa."

"Those are [his] ingredients for everything," Hayek joked.

Spade, meanwhile, observed that the key to a good sequel is the sense that the people making it committed an equal if not greater effort to its construction than the original. "I think in a good sequel, you shake it ...

‘Canyons’ Trailer Debuts: Watch It Here!

Do you really like movies? Lindsay Lohan wants to know.

In the new trailer for "The Canyons," the gossip-magnet actress questions whether the substance and meaning of movies is all it's cracked up to be. Directed by Paul Schrader (writer of "Taxi Driver") from a script by Bret Easton Ellis (writer of "American Psycho"), the film examines the underbelly of Hollywood in a way that both threatens to expose it and give it new meaning.

Lohan stars opposite adult film actor James Deen, who canoodles with Lohan in the clip as an off-camera voice reveals, "I make my own movies." While the footage doesn't quite reveal what kind of movies that disembodied voice makes, the wealth of bare flesh and writhing bodies suggests that they're not necessarily the kind that a young actress would be eager to write home about. Especially when she tells Deen, "there are some parts of my life I would like to keep private."

Deen responds, "Nobody has a private life anymore," as Lohan slips in and out of her clothes.

Lindsay Lohan Is A 'Train Wreck' In A 'Magical' Way, 'Canyons' Director Says

The film's production attracted plenty of attention in 2012 as Lohan's legal entanglements — and her public antics — overshadowed what appears to be the story of an imploding starlet. But after being rejected, very publicly, from several major film festivals, it appears the film will eventually find its way into theaters. Now the only question is whether or not "The Canyons" will turn out to be "a movie that you thought really ...

Jay-Z’s ‘Picasso Baby’ Video Shoot: Where’s My Cameo?

NEW YORK — Growing up in Brooklyn, it was hard not to be a fan of Jay-Z. Even when the Notorious B.I.G. reigned atop the borough's food chain, there was something magnetic about Shawn Carter and his early records that only seemed to get played on Stretch & Bobbito's overnight Columbia University-based college radio show. So when Hov put the call out to purchase his independently released debut album Reasonable Doubt in 1996, I answered and hit BK's famed Fulton Mall after school and bought the eventual hip-hop classic.

Seventeen years later, I'm still answering the call. However the most recent one was more direct. "Jay is doing something cool, I can't say what, but you should come and be a part of it," one of those industry connects, who eventually turn to great friends, told me over the phone on Tuesday evening.

I arrived at the address I was given, 510 West 25th Street, shortly after noon on Wednesday (July 10) but didn't realize that I'd be taking part in Jay-Z's "Picasso Baby" video shoot until after I was asked to sign a waiver inside of the Pace Gallery. In my head I joked that I signed my life away to the illuminati, but in reality, I simply consented to having my image used and agreed not to sue if I turned up in the video. (Why would I do that?)

There were a few familiar faces; music executive Michael Kyser, Roc A&R Lenny S. and performance artist Marina Abramović. The crowd for the most part was largely unfamiliar to me. ...

‘Oldboy’ Red Band Trailer: Watch Now!

Two days after Spike Lee released a trippy poster for " the director has revealed the first (NSFW) trailer for his adaptation of the popular manga and South Korean cult film fave. And if the preview's any indication, the American version isn't pulling any punches.

"Oldboy" tells the story of Joe Doucett (Josh Brolin), a man who wakes up imprisoned in a room — with no explanation. He stays there for 20 years, forced to watch television reports about the murder of his wife, a crime for which he was framed. One day, again without explanation, Joe is freed with a satchel full of cash and a whole lot of revenge to enact.

For fans of the original movie — directed by "Stoker" helmer Park Chan-wook — the concept of a remake, even by a filmmaker as respected as Lee, seemed like an impossibility. How could a mainstream American movie ever live up to the disturbing and violent nature of the original, especially that film's shocking conclusion?

Without venturing into spoiler territory, it looks like Lee has crafted a dark vision, one that bears a striking resemblance to the Park Chan-wook film. Fans will immediately recognize a gruesome scene involving a hammer as inspired by the South Korean version's most famous fight sequence. Moreover, a brief look at the actual scene in Lee's film seems to hint that it may take on a similar, long-take format.

On the topic of the ending (Warning: spoilers ahead), Lee's "Oldboy" could potentially pull off the same trick as the Korean flick. Fans familiar with ...

Little Mix’s Next Album Gives Them ‘Goose Bumps’

Little Mix know exactly what they will be doing during the hot summer months. In between festival gigs back in their native U.K., the singers will be hitting the studio to come up with a new batch of tunes to inspire their Little Mixers with.

The foursome dropped their debut album, DNA, in the U.S. back in May, but are already tuned into sessions for the follow-up album. They are hoping to take the lessons that they learned recording and promoting their debut (which dropped in the U.K. last November) and applying that to their in-the-works sophomore release.

"We're so proud of [the] DNA album. We don't want to let it go, but we've had a bit of fun. We've only literally just started writing and stuff," Jade Thirlwall explained to MTV News about the follow-up. "I think we probably might mature slightly for this album, but we want to keep the kind of uplifting message we had on the last one. Why am I saying last one? It's still out. Isn't that weird?"

"We're just gonna make it better; step it up," Leigh-Anne Pinnock added.

Would Little Mix Record A Tune With One Direction?

Their debut gave fans a taste of what exactly makes up Little Mix's musical DNA, with feisty anthems and empowering lyrics coursing through the album. And the ladies are hoping to recapture that magic this time around. "Maybe another 'Wings' kind of a thing. Like Jade said, we want it to be a little more mature 'cause we feel like our fans grow with us," ...
