Miley Cyrus Rocks Her Engagement Rock On ‘We Can’t Stop’ Set

After announcing her new single, earlier this month on the Billboard Music Awards, Miley Cyrus is now just days away from dropping the release on Monday. But before Smilers even get to hear a word of the song, they got a glimpse of the music video.

In new photos from the "We Can't Stop" set, Miley wears lots of gold necklaces and a white cropped top. She even shared a pic of her with the song's producer, Mike Will Made It, on the Los Angeles set. She tweeted about the shoot, "#eardruma @MikeWiLLMadeIt #wecantstop #thecountdownisreal."

Also noticeable in one of the pictures is Cyrus' engagement ring, which seems to shut down the most recent round of speculation that she had called off her engagement to "Hunger Games" actor Liam Hemsworth.

The latest breakup rumors were first reported by Us Weekly on Wednesday, with a source telling the magazine, "They are definitely over." But multiple sources refuted that, including an insider who told E! "It's been rocky, but they are hanging in there."

E! also reported that in addition to the "We Can't Stop" video, Cyrus recently shot the clip for her will.i.am collaboration, "Fall Down." And she appears in the just-dropped video for her Snoop Lion duet, "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks."

Cyrus will premiere "We Can't Stop" on Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Monday, June 3. She debuted the party-themed artwork for the single in Times Square earlier this week.

Michael Jackson’s Advice Helped Judith Hill ‘Sizzle’ On ‘The Voice’

There are a lucky few who can boast having any contact with Michael Jackson, let alone receiving his priceless advice. And "The Voice" alum Judith Hill is one of them. Despite being eliminated on Tuesday night's show, Hill has become known for her connection to the late King of Pop, serving as his background singer and duet partner during his final "This Is It" tour.

The connection proved to be a "double-edged sword" for Hill on the competition series, receiving high praise from coaches and criticism from some viewers who felt she was "exploiting" Jackson's name.

"Yeah, a weird sort of criticism because I didn't know what it was," Hill says of the unexpected backlash.

The pressure of living up to the pedestal she was placed on took a toll on Hill, who broke down on camera a couple weeks ago when assigned to perform a tribute to her mentor. Reluctant at first, the soulful diva eventually found the experience to be cathartic.

"It was like a release, kind of, to be able to celebrate Michael — my time with him and everything," Hill revealed to MTV News.

After Hill's final performance on Monday night to will.i.am's "#thatPOWER," Levine refused to put her in the category of contestant, recognizing her as an "artist."

Her musical prowess was a forced to be reckoned with on the show, due in part to some invaluable advice she received from Jackson himself.

"Yeah, like sometimes he would say, 'Sometimes you have to let the moment sizzle,' " Hill said, fondly remembering the legend.

‘After Earth’: The Reviews Are In!

When Will Smith makes a new movie, people come out in droves to see it. But will critics love it as much as audiences? It's tough to say, especially in the case of co-starring Smith's son Jaden and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, whose pedigree has fallen a bit since his days as Hollywood's biggest purveyor of twist endings.

Not that any of those hesitations are real problems for regular moviegoers; the movie may be fantastically entertaining, a massive success that keeps Smith at the top of the industry food chain. But before you make any decisions on which movie to watch this weekend, check out the reviews below.

The Shyamalan Comparison
"Shyamalan continues to passionately search for the elusive project that will elevate him back into the storytelling stratosphere he once occupied following the universal acceptance of his rug-pulling 'The Sixth Sense.' And he may have found it with his latest film. That's not to say this movie is nearly as airtight an endeavor as 'Sense,' because it isn't. But the loyal Night watchers who were deeply disappointed by his last few forays into moviemaking, 'The Happening' and 'The Last Airbender,' will find enough to enjoy once they accept 'After Earth' for what it is: a subdued, small survival story with a calculated family hook that softens the sci-fi so it can aim at young adults and their parents." — Sean O'Connell, Cinema Blend

The Effects
"Despite more corn than Mel Gibson grows on his farm in 'Signs' (another Shyamalan effort), 'After Earth' is worth a look. With a production ...

Kendrick Lamar Gives A good kid’s Perspective On ‘Menace II Society’

Kendrick Lamar, Compton's self-proclaimed good kid, absorbed the world around him and churned out a masterful debut LP complete with memorable characters and a tragic story line. So it should come as no surprise that good kid, m.A.A.d city was influenced by the 1993 film even though he was only 5 when it came out.

"I liked Caine, everybody liked O-Dog, I liked Caine for some reason," K-Dot told "RapFix Live" host Sway Calloway of Tyrin Turner's character in the film.

O-Dog, who was played by Larenz Tate, was wildly unpredictable and committed a double homicide in the first scene of the film, before the opening credits even rolled. Turner's character, while still rugged, had a bit more good kid tendencies. Actually, Caine reminded Kendrick a lot of his older cousin.

"How easy or hard was it for you to portray the character from 'Menace II Society'?" Lamar asked Turner in our Pass the Mic segment on Wednesday's episode of "RapFix Live," when we celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the gritty coming-of-age flick.

For Tyrin, a South Central, Los Angeles native, it wasn't difficult at all. "I never participated in none of the activity that went on, but I had homeboys that sold dope, I had homeboys that smoke, drunk, whatever the case may be so you see it and you just know the demeanor of it," he explained, answering Kendrick's question. "I just knew how to pick up on a lot of things that I saw, so it was pretty much easy."

‘Fast & Furious 6’ Expected To Hold Off ‘After Earth’ At Box Office

Not even the spaceships of can outrace

Last weekend's #1 movie is about to flatten Will Smith's passion project at the box-office. Smith conceived of the post-apocalyptic story about a warrior 1,000 years in the future who crash-lands on an abandoned earth and must send his son, played by Smith's real-life kid Jaden, on a perilous mission. "After Earth" was directed and co-written by M. Night Shyamalan, but despite its star power, its projected $38 million opening isn't likely to beat

Despite the Smiths' huge box-office draw, "After Earth" is the latest in a string of films from "The Sixth Sense" director Shyamalan to be savaged by critics. Like "The Last Airbender," "Devil," "The Happening," "Lady in the Water" and "The Village," "After Earth" is "rotten" on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer.

"'After Earth' tells the story of an inexperienced boy trying desperately to please his father while making one mistake after another, and as such, it becomes an uncomfortable metaphor for itself," wrote Alonso Duralde of TheWrap.com.

"If 'Fast & Furious 6' does hold onto the checkered flag two weeks in a row, it will have accomplished something no other film in the franchise has been able to pull off," Exhibitor Relations senior box-office analyst Jeff Bock told MTV News. "The only thing that might slow down 'Fast and Furious 6' is its amazing start out of the gate. Traditionally, fans of this series bolt out opening weekend, yet sort of abandon the film the second weekend, where the series averages a drop of ...

Will Smith Seduced M. Night Shyamalan With ‘After Earth’ Pitch

When MTV News' Josh Horowitz last spoke to writer/director M. Night Shyamalan, he was promoting "The Last Airbender" as he wrapped up work on what was supposed to be his next original film. But "After Earth," his new film with Will and Jaden Smith, was not that project. So how then did he end up making a sci-fi action film instead of his usual secrecy-shrouded opus?

"I was like three months from finishing that [original] screenplay," Shyamalan told Horowitz. "I was in my office and I got a call from Will Smith, and he called to say happy birthday... We were joking and then I mentioned I saw 'Karate Kid' and I said I thought his son [Jaden] could really act... He really surprised me because I went in with a lot of cynicism and came out shocked. And we talked about that, and then he was silent for a second, and then he said, I have an idea for him — actually, I have two ideas!"

Shyamalan explained that Smith pitched him the concept for "After Earth," which promptly disrupted any creative momentum he had on his own project.

"He pitched one and I was like, 'well...'," he said, explaining his hesitation. "And he said, 'I've got another one.' He said it was a sci-fi movie, a thousand years from now, and he pitched 'After Earth.'

M. Night Shyamalan Plots Out 'Unbreakable 2.'

"I said, 'Will, I'd love to do that!' The second he finished, I knew it was all of the subjects I'm interested in — families, fathers and ...
