‘Pacific Rim’ Trailer Surfaces: Watch Now!

With a summer movie season already crowded with big superheroes, you'd have to be a giant robot or monster to vie for attention. Thankfully the new trailer for Guillermo Del Toro's sci-fi monster film "Pacific Rim" packs in more large-scale creatures and creations in one trailer than we've ever seen before.

"We always thought alien life would come from the stars," says the trailer's voiceover, "but it came from deep beneath the Pacific." The voiceover then lists the first cities hit by the Kaiju, which is both Japanese for "strange beast" and the name for the giant monster film genre that includes everything from "Godzilla" to "Cloverfield." But "Pacific Rim" contains something those films lacked: humans that fight back in giant robot suits.

"In order to fight monsters, we created monsters of our own," reveals the voiceover as it explains the origins of the Jaeger program that built the battling bots and developed the technology that connects two pilots together mentally — forcing man and machine to become one. And then there's punching. Lots of punching.

Del Toro has become known for his impressive use of special effects, previously wowing audiences with films like "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Hellboy." The film stars Charlie Hunnam and Idris Elba, as well as frequent Del Toro collaborator Ron Perlman, and "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" actor Charlie Day. But the real star of the trailer has to be the special effects, which mash up classic movie monsters with Del Toro's cutting edge vision of the future.

The film hits theaters July 12 (an appropriate phrase considering just ...

T-Pain Is ‘Always Funny,’ Andy Samberg Says Of Lonely Island Pal

Andy Samberg and his comedy rap group the Lonely Island are back with more musical shenanigans just in time for summer. The troupe will drop The Wack Album on June 11 with the help of some of the biggest names in music, including previously released collaborations with Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake, as well as Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar.

Samberg revealed to MTV News earlier this week that "fraps" are playing a major role when it comes to the group's third album — but not the kind you get at your local coffeehouse. "Well, there's a lot more fake raps on it: fraps," Samberg explained. "We got a lot of really awesome guests. We're still holding on to some of the names, some more people coming ... it's exciting. It's going good."

In addition to more surprise guests, the Lonely Island crew have been teasing fans with weekly releases billed as "Wack Wednesdays." So far, the guys have given fans the music video, co-starring James Franco, Ed Norton and Zach Galifianakis. And just this week, they dropped the T-Pain collaboration "I F---ed My Aunt." And as it turns out, in real life, T-Pain is just as funny as he appears on the song.

"T-Pain is always very, very funny. Oh my God! He's the best," Samberg gushed about the Florida rapper, who previously collaborated with the group on 2009's "He just loves comedy — gets it, loves it. He's got a gigantic chain with the Mooninites from 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force.' He's like a deep comedy head."

"We did a couple of records [together], but he's still gotta do the vocals, so hopefully, while they're doing the mixing, it'll make the album," he said of the new music, which seems to include involvement from producer Timbaland as well. "Right now, we're wrapping it up and hopefully it'll definitely make the album because it's a great song."

Juicy J also recalled the experience of joining Justin in the studio for Timberlake's last album, admitting that he was blown away by the singer/actor's work ethic. "Justin is super talented; he can play any type of instrument and he even engineers on the mixing board," he explained. "When I saw that, I was like, 'Wow, that guy really knows music.' Instead ...

Beyonce Ignores Doctor’s Orders With Antwerp Performance

Leave it to Beyoncé to perform even when she's told not to. After postponing her show Tuesday night in Antwerp, Belgium, upon doctor's orders, the singer took the stage Wednesday evening for her second scheduled show in the country, this time against them.

She had cited dehydration and exhaustion for the reason she canceled Tuesday's gig, but one night later, she was back at work. And in footage from the show, she thanked the crowd during the latest stop on her Mrs. Carter Show tour.

"How y'all doing? I said, How you doing? I just have to say I feel so good to be on the stage," she said in a glittering white bodysuit. "I have the best fans in the world. It's somebody's birthday. Happy birthday! Now my doctors told me not to perform tonight, but there was no way in the world. I just have to say that y'all give me so much inspiration, and I just want to thank you guys."

As the opening notes of "Flaws and All" played, she told the room, "This song is for all for all [the] BeyHive. I love y'all."

Christina Aguilera Shares Sexy Photo From Music Video Set

Christina Aguilera is looking muy caliente on the set of her new music video, for her duet with Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez titled "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti."

In a new photo from the set, Aguilera is looking slim and toned in a black bra and skirt, standing in front of an open window with the ocean behind her. In another photo posted by Fernandez, Aguilera stands in a Spanish colonial-style mansion wearing a black dress.

The slow jam, a cover of Miguel Gallardo's 1975 ballad, will reportedly serve as the theme song for the Televisa televonela "La Tempestad." Translated, the song's title means "Today I Want You."

Even with new music on the horizon, Aguilera is plotting her return to an old project, "The Voice."

After it was rumored she'd return to her spinning chair on the series, host Carson Daly confirmed it to E! News. Shakira, who has served as Xtina's replacement this season, released a statement about her departure, saying she needs to "get back to my motherhood" and finish work on her album.

With Aguilera back, rumor has it that Cee Lo Green may also reunite with fellow mentors Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, meaning that seat-filler Usher might be out by the end of the current season. Daly couldn't confirm Usher or Cee Lo's plans, but he did say "for the original team to get back together" — meaning Adam, Blake, Cee Lo and Christina — "there's always something special about that."

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’: The Reviews Are In!

"Star Trek Into Darkness" has one huge thing going for it: It follows the massively successful 2009 film "Star Trek." But it's got several more going against it, such as the fact that it's a sequel, a sequel in a franchise whose installments have typically been considered uneven and, perhaps oddly, a sequel that follows the massively successful 2009 film "Star Trek."

But mammoth expectations from moviegoers aside, "Into Darkness" has so far received mostly positive reviews, although most suggest that the film should be looked at primarily as summer spectacle. On the other hand, longtime "Trek" fans — not to mention folks expecting something a little smarter or more substantial — have been quick to point out the film's shortcomings. Take a look at a cross-section of reviews for the film as you're deciding how excited to be about "Star Trek Into Darkness": cautiously optimistic or mind-numbingly thrilled to have another "Trek" movie to watch?

Who's Going To Like 'Star Trek Into Darkness'?
" 'Star Trek Into Darkness' is a movie that tries so very hard to appeal to everyone (and should satisfy most) during a summer season that knows how to bring the noise and the funk and the big-budget special effects. It wows and it pows, and while the gang is still having some issues balancing fan service with the growth of something new and fresh, the sequel is exciting, thrilling, funny, emotional and everything you'd want from a summer blockbuster." — Erik Davis, Movies.com

But Is It Enough To Love It As A Thrill Ride?
"Although the film is ...
