Ed Sheeran On Musical March Madness Trophy: ‘It’s The Biggest Award I’ve Ever Got.’

It's been more than a month since Ed Sheeran triumphed over Thirty Seconds To Mars in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament, and since then, he's celebrated his championship on an epic victory tour across North America (aka )

But what have we been doing? Why, forging his MMM trophy, of course. And after a month of toiling away in the foundry, on Thursday, we finally presented Sheeran with his hardware: a ten-pound muscle man, mid flex, that makes all other championship trophies seem puny by comparison. And, understandably, Ed was pumped to receive it.

"This is what I used to look like before I discovered burgers," he laughed, eyeing the bulging, bronzed pectoral muscles of his trophy. "It's the biggest award I've ever got!"

Of course, he owes his MMM victory to the fanatical support of his Sheerios, who guided him through the tournament, past 63 other acts, and helped shatter records for voting. So, ever the humble champ, he took a moment to thank them for helping him take home the title.

"Even though they've given the award to me, I didn't do all the coting, so thank you for voting and taking up so much of your time; I know it was quite intense, but this is all worth it," he laughed. "But I'm disappointed you kept his underwear on, he doesn't look like he's packing anything."

We'll admit, he's right: our trophy is big all over, just not in the pants (we suspect this is a side-effect of too much bodybuilding). But Sheeran's not ashamed; if anything, he ...

Adam Yauch To Be Honored With Brooklyn Playground, NYC Confirms

On Friday, May 3 — almost one year after he succumbed to cancer — late, great Beastie Boy Adam Yauch will be honored by his former borough of Brooklyn ... with a playground named in his memory.

The Palmetto Playground, located in Brooklyn Heights, will be renamed Adam Yauch Park, a spokesperson for the New York City Department of Parks confirmed to MTV News. A ceremony is set for Friday at 11 a.m., and will be attended by Beastie Boy Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, Yauch's parents and family members, Brooklyn Borough president Marty Markowitz and state senator Daniel Squadron who last year penned a resolution that paid tribute to Yauch's many contributions to New York City.

"Adam Yauch grew up in Brooklyn Heights, on State Street, and learned to ride a bicycle in the park that will now bear his name," the Parks Department said in a statement. "A pioneer in the worlds of music, social activism and film, Yauch was not only a founding member of the Beastie Boys, but also established the Milrepa Fund that produced the Tibetan Freedom Concert benefits, and created the film-production and distribution company Oscilloscope Laboratories."

According to the Parks Department, Adam Yauch Park features both full and half basketball courts (fitting for the lifelong hoops fan who directed the 2008 doc ), plus a community garden, greenhouse, fitness area and a dog run, to name a few of the amenities.

‘Great Gatsby’ Stars Remember Their First Time … Reading The Novel

NEW YORK: The Jazz Age took center stage Wednesday (May 1), as the stars of Baz Luhrmann's glitzy — including Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan — walked the black carpet outside of Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall for the world premiere of their '20s-set film (which opens in theaters May 10).

Often considered one of (if not the) great American novel, the F. Scott Fitzgerald tale — about an enigmatic millionaire trying to win back his long-lost love — is a mainstay of high-school and college curricula, yet the manner in which the stars were introduced to the book are as many and varied as Gatsby's extensive shirt collection.

DiCaprio, like many, read the novel as a boy but found new meaning in it as a man.

"I had a connection with the character very early on, but not until I picked it up as an adult did I really understand the nuance or the complexity or the symbolism and the genius of Fitzgerald's work," he said.

Co-star Isla Fisher, who plays Myrtle Wilson, recalled a similar experience.

"I never read that much into it. I was a kid at the time," she said. "And then I re-read it as an adult, and obviously now I see Gatsby as this flawed, obsessed, arrested development kind of guy who's interested in the American dream."

Maguire, rather surprisingly, never read the novel as a young adult and only sat down to page through as he contemplated the role of narrator Nick Carraway.

"I just thought the book was unbelievable," Maguire said of reading it recently. ...

Nicki Minaj Slams Mariah Carey With ‘Secure Woman’ Tweet

Just when you thought Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj were done bickering on the two diva judges have thrown so much shade
at each other over the past 24 hours producers might have to set up extra stage lights just so we can see all the eye-rolling on Thursday night's (May 2) elimination show.

The agree-to-disagree/hate relationship took another serious turn on Wednesday night when Carey not-so-subtly tweaked Minaj by noting that the Young Money queen had never reached the #1 position on the Billboard's Hot 100 single chart. (Not for nothing, but Billboard reported last April that both women had 44 Hot 100 hits, though Carey still holds the record for most weeks at #1 (16) for her 1995-96 Boyz II Men hit "One Sweet Day.")

Well, you knew Nicki wasn't going to take that sitting down. On Thursday morning she started the day with a tweet that set things off again. "All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin?," Minaj wrote double-tweaking Carey by using one of her favored bit of twin-related slang and bringing up the sore subject of rumors that "Idol" producers had reportedly considered dumping Mariah
in favor of former judge Jennifer Lopez earlier this season when ratings began to go (further) South.

"I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that."

She was not quite as politic a short time earlier, when she tweeted, "What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy ass) is asking why a woman SO ...

Jay-Z Drops ‘100$ Bill’ To Go ‘Hand In Hand’ With ‘Great Gatsby’

Yes, Jay-Z is an enterprising business mogul, but with everything the Roc Nation CEO has going on, he never seems to put anything above the music. With that notion, Hov partnered with Baz Luhrmann to score a film set in the Roaring Twenties with a soundtrack a bit more modern.

On Thursday (May 2), Jay released off the film's soundtrack. The frantic, Houston-inspired production is complete with chopped and screwed samples, church-like wails, jazz flutes and Leonardo DiCaprio sound-fills from the film.

On the track, which found its way onto the Internet Thursday (April 2), Hovi compares the ascent of his empire to Jay Gatsby's storied hustle, but with a dash of hip-hop modernism. In just a few short bars there are references to literary greats, rap icons, Houston hip-hop culture and Jay's chain of 40/40 sports bars. "I write like Mark Twain, Jay Gatsby I park thangs/ Yellow cars, yellow gold, like Slick Rick, still tip/ On four-fours, fo-fos at the four-O, four-O" he rhymes effortlessly.

"It's not the typical soundtrack, or a standalone piece. The songs are pretty much in the film, so it goes hand in hand with each other. It had to fit pretty snug, it wasn't an afterthought," Jay told Blacktree.TV of the soundtrack, which not only includes himself, but Florence and the Machine, Lana Del Rey, Jack White and his wife Beyoncé.

The idea to bring the rap star onboard to help situate music in the film came about during a Watch the Throne recording session in New York's Mercer ...

‘American Idol’ Report Card: Candice Glover Carries On, Amber Holcomb Delivers Strong

After producers gave the top four a reprieve last week — since the judges never felt the need to use their save — it was back to business on Wednesday night, as the girls tackled songs from 2013 and a standard of their choice.

And though the decision to liven up season 12 with contemporary songs was inspired, it didn't exactly work out as planned; if anything, Wednesday's show gave us more of the same — this may be the most evenly-matched final four in "Idol" history — only with bonus befuddlement from guest mentor Harry Connick, Jr. Still, there were some highlights ... and we're not just talking about the rapidly-escalating Nicki/Mariah feud, either. So, who soared, and who bored? Here's our "American Idol" report card.

Candice Glover: She continues to be the class of the competition, and last night she dominated both Bruno and Billie. Her take on "When I Was Your Man" was soulful and simmering, while "When I Was Your Man" got the judges on their feet — and left Nicki speechless (finally). Of course, she needs a ton of votes to avoid going home tonight — and sadly, it wouldn't surprise us if she did — though perhaps Candice can take solace in the fact that Jennifer Hudson didn't win "Idol" either. And, yes, she's definitely earned that comparison. Grade: A

Angie Miller: Since Candice and Amber ended up in the bottom two last week (let's hear it for America!), Miller is basically the frontrunner at this point, though she seems to be the ...

Taylor Swift’s ‘New Girl’ Cameo: When Taylor Met Zooey!

What happens when Taylor Swift and Zooey Deschanel meet? Well "New Girl" fans will have to wait until May 14 to find out for sure, but they are getting an early glimpse at the singer's appearance on the show's season finale.

In a photo posted on Entertainment Weekly's website, Swift, who plays Elaine, is snapped chatting up Deschanel's kooky leading lady, Jess. Swift sports a sophisticated beige dress with peach sash, while Deschanel is outfitted in a bright blue Indian-style dress. The episode will revolve around Jess' best friend, CeCe's (Hannah Simone) wedding to her beau Shivrang (Satya Bhabha).

Little is known about Elaine, but it was previously reported that she's an "important guest" at the nuptials.

Taylor Swift need help prepping for her "New Girl" cameo? Hollywood Crush is on the job!

Showrunner Liz Meriwether didn't spill too many additional details about Swift's appearance on the hit Fox comedy, but did explain why she enlisted the Red star to drop by the show. "I'm a huge fan of hers. I was fully geeking out about meeting [Taylor]. I didn't go to meet her right away because I kind of had to compose myself — there's a 14-year-old girl inside of me. She was quoting lines to us from the show. It was a really exciting night," Meriwether told EW of the mutual admiration society that took place on set.

Meriwether added that Swift "nailed it" during the appearance and teased that "she did a little bit of a riff on one of her songs" during the episode.

Swift taped the ...
