Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum are officially parents. The married actors welcomed their first child over the weekend.
While neither of the parents have commented on the birth, Us Weekly reported that the couple had a girl, with Dewan-Tatum giving birth in London, where husband Channing is filming his next project, “Jupiter Ascending.”
The couple previously confirmed that their baby would be born in England.
Dewan-Tatum announced she was expecting last December after debuting her baby bump on the “VH1 Divas” red carpet. The pair first met on the set of “Step Up” in 2006, and married three years later, in 2009, in Malibu.
Tatum has been very open about his desire to be a dad. The “Magic Mike” star told People in November that he wanted to have a large family with his longtime love.
“I’m ready; I think she’s ready,” he said. “The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see where we go after that. It’s really easy for us guys to say, ‘I want, like, 15 kids.’ Jenna will be like, ‘Well, you better get another wife!’ “
As for the new mom, she opened up about her parenting style, sharing she wasn’t sure she had much of a philosophy yet. “Who knows what kind of parents we’ll be? We have two dogs, so we’ve had some practice!” she told Glamour in the May issue. “And as soon as this baby comes into the world, Channing and I will figure it out real fast.
“I think, ‘How in the world am I going to do all this?’ I have no idea what I’m up against,” she added. “But I’m as mentally prepared as I can be. It’s an adventure!”
