Chief Keef is in police custody once again, though it is unclear whether the Chicago rapper will actually be charged with a crime.
The “I Don’t Like” spitter was reportedly present during a shooting in a home on Happ Road in Northfield, Illinois that landed someone in the hospital on Wednesday morning (March 26). Keef’s lawyer confirmed with TMZ.com that he was present during the shooting, but maintains CK wasn’t the shooter. The rapper was taken into police custody however according to a report on Complex.com.
MTV News reached out to the Northfield Police department, who told us that a special task force was currently investigating the crime.
Details are still sketchy, but WGN in Chicago is reporting that the house where the shooting occurred is believed to be the home of Keef’s manager. Following the incident, police set up a blockade for as many as six blocks. The unidentified victim is said to be in intensive care. On Tuesday, just a day before the shooting, Keef posed on his Instagram page holding a firearm.
Keef was recently released from a drug rehab center and, according to TMZ, was arrested while on March 5 and charged with a DUI, driving with a suspended license and having no proof of insurance.
