Chief Keef’s Cousin Big Glo Murdered In Chicago

More bad news out of Chicago. Chief Keef’s cousin, 33-year-old rapper Big Glo, was shot to death on Wednesday night.

The rapper, born Mario Hess, was killed in Englewood after two shooters opened fire shortly before 10 p.m., leaving more than two-dozen bullet casings behind, according to the Chicago Tribute.

Hess, who previously went by the name Blood Money was shot at least 10 times, and was later pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital. Another man on the scene was also admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

Chief Keef was questioned and released in connection to the shooting.

Hess is Keef’s second cousin, the oldest member of his Glory Boyz Entertainment crew, and just last month he was featured on the single “F— Rehab.” Hess recently inked a deal with Interscope Records, and was ready to pursue his rap career full time.

“He was basically trying to just get his rap career together because that’s a good opportunity,” his manager Renaldo Reuben Hess told the Tribune. “They gave him some money up front. It was a good chance for him to get himself out the hood.”

“I basically had an intuition…just telling him he really needs to move out of Chicago,” he added. “He was trying to get the rest of this money and stay off the streets.”

Hess had trouble with the law in the past, including arrests for manufacturing and delivering cocaine, weapons violations and aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a felon. He served jail time for some of his offenses and most recently he was sentenced to two years’ probation, and later violated that probation.

Chief Keef hasn’t directly commented on his cousin’s death. Instead he shared a photo of his latest tattoo, simply captioned “gang.”
