Cody Simpson may be hard at work on his third album, but he’s taking a break to try his hand at acting.
The Australian native will be making a cameo on Nick at Nite’s “Instant Mom” this season. But Simpson won’t have to dig too deep to get into character, as he’ll be playing himself.
Simpson will be making an appearance on the sitcom, which stars Tia Mowry-Hardrict as Stephanie, a woman who trades her party life to marry an older man with three children.
On the episode, Stephanie’s kids enter a contest to win a pair of tickets to Simpson’s sold-out concert. When one of her sons, Aaron, wins the tickets, the family fights over who will attend the concert with him.
This isn’t the first time Simpson, who tweeted that he’s been “rehearsing scripts” and has “big things coming,” has been featured on a television series. The 17-year-old performed on Disney’s short-lived series “So Random!” back in 2011.
Simpson is working on the follow-up to last year’s Surfer’s Paradise. “wrote another great song today,” Simpson tweeted on Thursday (February 20). “can’t wait to share some new music with you guys.”
