Daft Punk may have their own official action figures and Coke bottles, but what about official condoms? The Daft Punk helmet is practically ubiquitous at point, but when it comes to the “Get Lucky” condoms that popped up on the Web this week, those helmets are strictly off-brand, as Durex denies a team-up.
A Durex rep, however, told MTV News that they have not been working with the band. “We are aware of reports that Durex has launched Daft Punk branded condoms following their hit single ‘Get Lucky,’ ” he said. “There is no Durex promotion or partnership with Daft Punk in the U.S. or any other markets and Durex is not posting free packs to the world’s top DJs as suggested. However, we do hope that by using Durex condoms, music-lovers will continue to make sweet music together and have great sex!”
After Diplo posted a picture of an opened Durex-branded condom package to Instagram this week, word started flying around the Web that Daft Punk and Durex had a special-edition condom collabo.
“Thank god I had those daft punk condoms last night,” Diplo wrote in the caption. The thin box was tricked out with the Random Access Memories cover art. Reports stated that Durex had started sending out these samples of the condoms to DJs ahead of release.
Are Those Daft Punk Condoms For Real?
It seemed a plausible match, as summer jam “Get Lucky” lends itself particularly well to activity of the lubricated variety. Durex also teamed up with “X Factor” boy band JLS in 2010 to create a line of condoms called Just Love Safe, as part of the boys’ safe-sex campaign.
That isn’t to say the Daft Punk condoms don’t exist, however — they’re just not an official Durex product. Sony Music Belgium shared a photo of the condoms a week ago, with the caption, “Score a #getluckycondom from our #DaftPunk van at Leuven station right now! #rw13 @RockWerchter,” referring to last week’s festival in Belgium. Oddly enough, Daft Punk did not perform at that fest.

An unverified Daft Punk Twitter account seems to be root of the rumors that the condoms will be available for sale in stores and that they have been distributed the DJs and producers.
MTV News has reached out to Daft Punk and camp about the origin of the condoms, but has not yet heard back.
In other latex news, the band does have an official line of action figures, set for release in December, if you’re still looking to “get lucky” with some Daft Punk merch.
