Demi Lovato is remembering her father, Patrick, one year after he lost his battle with cancer.
“Can’t believe it’s already been a year..,” the singer tweeted. “Wish I could’ve hugged you one last time.. RIP Daddy, I love you.”
Shortly after his death, Lovato revealed that her father was suffering from mental illness, and she created the Lovato Treatment Scholarship, which pays for the cost of treatment, in his honor.
“My father and I didn’t have the most ideal relationship but at the end of the day he’s still my dad and I grew up with him and he was a wonderful person,” she told “Good Morning America” in 2013. “And it’s difficult but I’m handling it OK.”
