Did Your One Direction Photo Make The Movie Poster? See It Now!

One Direction decided the best way to celebrate being in a boy band for 1,000 days (roughly three years) is by releasing the poster for their 3-D summer blockbuster,

The guys released the poster Thursday evening, the same day they took to Twitter to thank their fans for all their support on what is now a 1D holiday of sorts. “Wow! Thank you so much for your support! #1000daysof1d! It’s been amazing! Love you,” Niall Horan tweeted.

Louis Tomlinson added, “1000 days of being in the band ? Wow that really is incredible 🙂 Amazing that you guys have shaped our career! Thank you so much x.”

The poster for the August 30 release not only celebrates the band, but also their stoutly loyal Directioners. It was compiled using fan photos from around the world; fans have been submitting photos to the band’s site since February.

A digital version will launch in May, featuring more photos as well as an app for fans to locate their snapshots in the collage.

Director Morgan Spurlock recently held a Twitter Q&A, where he opened up about working with the guys on the concert film/documentary. The flick follows the guys on their Take Me Home tour, which they will bring to the States in June.

“[It] can be a little unnerving with a camera in your face all the time, but you build trust over time, now I’m just like a piece of furniture. The lads have been both in front of & behind the camera. They’ve been filming each other on the tour bus & on day’s off; great footage. We spend a lot of down time with the band, with their families & friends,” he teased. “We really wanted you to see what their ‘normal’ lives are like.”

Additionally, on the #1000daysof1d anniversary, the guys officially debuted their Madame Tussauds wax statues in London. The statues, much like the real band, will be on their own world tour, making stops in New York City and Sydney.
