We’ll admit we’re a little obsessed with lists. We love reading Forbes’ 30 Under 30, Fortune’s 40 Under 40, and all hot lady/hot dude compilations from Maxim, FHM, and People. This week, The Business of Fashion released one of our personal favorites: the BoF 500. According to the site’s creator Imran Amed, these are the top 500 people who he believes “are shaping the fashion world today,” and as it turns out, it’s peppered with some of our ol’ MTV favorites.

Kanye West. Hip-hop artist, visionary, father, husband, substitute teacher, and a (fashion) god. This comes as no surprise to anyone–to us, to Kanye, to you.

Man, Kendall Jenner seems poised to take over the fashion world, doesn’t she? Not only did she cause waves at New York Fashion Week, but she absolutely dominated at Milan Fashion Week during a model stampede at Dolce & Gabbana. Being included on BoF’s is the latest–but not the last–notch on young Jenner’s fashion belt. Well done, Kendall.

Lupitaaaaaaa! We’ve already chronicled her ability to wear every single color under the rainbow with both grace and aplomb (and barely concealed our wish to have her be one of our best friends) so it’s no surprise that the rest of the world has followed suit. We’ve already called 2014 “The Year of Lupita,” but at the rate the Kenyan actress is going, this might turn into the “Decade of Lupita.”

Shayne Oliver, designer of Hood By Air, which if you don’t know by name, you probably know by sight, is totally taking over the fashion world. We managed to talk to Shayne in 2013 where he discussed his ever-evolving fall collection, and we reported earlier this year that he was expanding his HBA franchise. Between this, and his clientele of well-known names such as Kanye, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, y’all best be getting in the ground floor before he takes over completely.
To see who else made the list, peep it here.
