Donald Glover Will Play A NASA Employee In Ridley Scott’s ‘The Martian’

Childish Gambino had his moment last week with the release of his STN MTN mixtape and the KAUAI EP, so now it’s Donald Glover’s turn.

The Wrap reports that the former “Community” star, along with “Headhunters” actor Aksel Hennie, has joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s new flick “The Martian.”

Matt Damon stars in the science fiction film as an astronaut who must survive on Mars until he’s able to return home to Earth.

The 20th Century Fox blockbuster already has an all-star cast that includes Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels and Jessica Chastain, who plays the leader of the mission to rescue Damon.

Glover, who plays a bright young NASA employee in the space adventure, also recently joined the cast of “Magic Mike XXL” and is in Disney’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” which is in theaters now.

Drew Goodard (“Cloverfield”) wrote the script, while Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) and Aditya Sood have been tapped to produce.

“The Martian” is set to hit the silver screen in November 2015.
