Don’t Worry, Bobby Shmurda’s Momager Is Handling Her Son’s Shmoney Problems

Bobby Shmurda’s mother and manager, Leslie Pollard, wants to clarify her son’s rant about not getting his “Shmoney” to do shows: it was “impulse talking.”

“It’s not that he’s not getting paid, it’s that he’s new to the business,” she told Billboard. “There’s a chain of command that he has to go through before he gets his payment. I guess he’s thinking all the money should go from the front man to his hands—it doesn’t work like that. Of course they hold onto it so he actually does the show. Then it goes to his business manager, then to the touring accountant and then to him.”

Shmurda, who’s omnipresent single, “Hot N—a,” just entered the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10, took to Instagram Tuesday (October 14) to air out promoters for not ponying up the funds for his performances, but deleted the post shortly thereafter.

Unfortunately for the 20-year old rapper, nothing is ever truly deleted on the Internet. The rant and accompanying NSFW monologue was posted to YouTube for all to see, and you can watch it above to hear his complaints.

Pollard, a rookie herself with only two months of managing the Brooklyn rapper under her belt, asserts that the issue has since been resolved.

The Brooklyn MC’s EP, Shmurda She Wrote, drops on November 10.
