Drake And OutKast Top 2014 OVO Fest Lineup

OutKast will perform a string of shows this year, as part of their much-anticipated reunion tour, but not many artists can boast that they’ll get Andre 3000 and Big Boi on stage at their own personal music festival. Drake can, though.

On Tuesday (February 18), Drizzy announced the preliminary lineup for his 5th annual OVO Festival, which will be held in Toronto on August 3 and 4, with Big Boi and Three Stacks headlining the first night. Drake will headline the second night of the concert series along with special guests, and the full roster of artists booked for the show is likely to be a doozy.

Last year, the Toronto rapper reunited Ma$e and Diddy on stage, tapped TLC to perform and commanded an incredible cameo from Kanye West. During his brief set Kanye gave major props, admitting that competition with Drake fueled the birth of his Watch the Throne album with Jay Z.

To say that it was a memorable night for Drake, as well, would be an understatement. “That was probably the most important moment in my career to date,” the YMCMB signee told MTV News after the show that night. “I think me and Kanye have wanted to express our respect for each other for a long time and sometimes rap, the business, the competitiveness and just the heart behind it forces you to not talk to the people you quietly admire.”

Previous performers at OVO Fest have included Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, J.Cole, and too many others to name. With the ATLiens on board, it’s likely to be another blowout.

OVO Fest will be held at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto on August 3 and 4. Tickets go on sale February 1 at Ticketmaster.com.
