With the holiday season fast-approaching, Drake is ready to deliver the perfect gift — a new collection of music.
“Not an EP, but maybe a blog thing like how I did ‘Versace,’ ‘The Motion,’ all of those in one night. I’ll probably do ‘Trophies’ and three or four other records,” Drizzy told Vibe.com about the unreleased songs that he plans to drop before the year is done. “[‘Wu-Tang Forever (remix)’] will probably come out with all that stuff — I hope. It’s on 40 [Noah Shebib]. He has all the verses.”
Drake came into the game giving away music online. He started with Room For Improvement in 2006, dropped Comeback Season the next year and, in 2009, released his breakout mixtape So Far Gone. Drake hasn’t dropped another mixtape since, but he has used his OVO Blog and OVOSound.com to deliver special single releases for fans.
In June, three months before he dropped his latest album Nothing Was the Same the Young money hitmaker dropped off four new songs on his website; “Jodeci Freestyle” with J. Cole, “Versace” remix with Migos, “The Motion” and “Over Here” with PartyNextDoor.
If Drake does finally decide to release the long-awaited , it’s unclear if all of the Wu will appear. In November, U-God, Masta Killa and Cappadonna all appeared on “RapFix Live” and confirmed that they all recorded their verses for Drake. Cap estimated that three or so members hadn’t yet contributed to the song.
“The majority of everybody [recorded their verses], probably minus three,” Cap said before saying that Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Method Man weren’t done with their rhymes. “Meth did lay a joint, but then he didn’t want to do that one, so he took that off,” Cappadonna confirmed. “But everybody else did it. I don’t know if it’s gonna be accepted by our peers our whatever, but it sound good to me.”
