Tonight, at 7:53 p.m. ET, musician Ellie Goulding will appear live on MTV to debut the music video for her new song “Beating Heart,” which is featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming movie. Goulding will be joined by Shailene Woodley and Theo James, who star in “Divergent.” Following the live unveiling of the video on MTV and MTV.com, the fun will continue online. MTV News correspondent Christina Garibaldi will moderate a discussion between Woodley, James and Goulding about the upcoming movie and its music, streaming live from MTV’s New York City studio. “Divergent” follows the journey of Tris Prior, a teenage girl in a ruined future Chicago, one in which society is divided into virtue-based factions. After learning a potentially life-threatening secret about her true nature, Tris (played by Woodley) abandons her family and their selfless faction, Abnegation. Instead, she turns to the brave crew of Dauntless. It’s there that she meets Four (James). As the duo explore their feelings for one another, a coup is brewing in the wider city, one they will play an integral part in. “Divergent” is the first movie in a series based off of author Veronica Roth’s bestselling books of the same name.
