Before he linked up with Rick Ross and Maybach Music Group last year, Fat Trel was working closely with another rapper-turned-boss. But things ended on a sour note between the two men.
“It didn’t go right. Things weren’t done correctly on the business tip, so me and Master P have no relationship,” Trel told MTV News of his past with the No Limit mogul.
Luckily, though, that failed deal left the Washington, D.C., native open for other opportunities. In November, the dreadlocked MC signed with MMG. “I was never affected,” he insisted. “I always had my own thing going, and we really wanted to help and be a part of history with the whole No Limit thing, but it didn’t go right.”
P and Trel officially announced their partnership back in November 2012. Pairing up with Atlanta rapper Alley Boy, the duo formed the group Louie V Mob. “Everybody who knows me knows I don’t like to talk,” Trel said in a YouTube video announcing their partnership at the time. “Louis V Mob: It’s a new world order.”
That prediction didn’t pan out but Trel, who this week released his Gleesh mixtape, didn’t let that get him off course. “It was a blessing, actually,” he said. “The minute I left L.A., I got a deal. So, it was all a blessing at the same time.”
