Anything is possible when Hanson plays during MTV/CMT/VH1’s O Music Awards, which starts streaming live on Wednesday (June 19) at 7 p.m. ET on OMusicAwards.com and continues for 24 hours. We mean anything. Because when the trio plays a gig, they set out to make every performance distinctive.
“We need to make sure that every single time someone comes to a show that it’s a unique experience,” Isaac teased to MTV News on Monday night, when the band was playing one of two nights at Irving Plaza, where they were celebrating their 21st anniversary as well as the release of their new album, Anthem.
Isaac continued, “But that the experience that people are having every night is one that they, they could come to two shows at Irving Plaza in New York City and they could see a dozen other songs that they wouldn’t have seen the night before. And that’s really important to us because that says to the audience, ‘Listen we understand that you may or may not want to come to more than one show.’ We’re gonna try and make sure that every single time that you come that it’s an exciting and unique experience.”
Hanson are one of the many artists, including the Jonas Brothers, Kat Dahlia and Kate Nash, who will all join in on the fun during the O Music Awards’ first-ever “Live Music Day” festival. The 24-hour streaming event kicks off Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at OMusicAwards.com where more than 50 bands will participate. And let’s not forget that Andrew W.K. will attempt to make a world record for the Longest Drum Session in a Retail Store during the O Music Awards. Party hard, indeed!
Among the nominees at the fourth-annual show are Justin Bieber, Frank Ocean, the JoBros, Demi Lovato and Ed Sheeran, who are up for prizes in categories such as Fan Army FTW, Must Follow Artist on Twitter, Best Music App, Too Much Ass for TV and Best Artist Instagram.
The O Music Awards will launch Wednesday, June 19 at 7 p.m. at OMusicAwards.com and run for 24 hours. This is one event you won’t want to miss.
