‘Hit The Floor’ Lays Down The Dance Laws

They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. In order to avoid walking this path, the Devil Girls of VH1’s “Hit the Floor” learn the dos and don’ts of their new dance life early on. The new scripted series explores the sexy and scandalous lives of professional basketball franchises and the dancers that reel in their fans.

With episode one introducing the key players, including new recruit Ahsha (played by Taylour Paige) and the ruthless, star captain Jelena (played by Logan Browning), the teaser for episode two shows it’s is all about the game.

It looks like it’s going to be an arduous season for the Devil Girls with their first performance at the invitation only, pre-season kick-off party just around the corner, and a bevy of appearances scheduled.

“By the end of the season, you will hurt … a lot,” squad manager Olivia (played by Charlotte Ross) warns her dancers during rehearsal, “We are not just artists; we are athletes.”

Representing the Los Angeles Devils a.k.a. the number one team in the league is no small feat. As acting “ambassadors,” the dancers are given strict rules against mixing business with pleasure, with Olivia reiterating that there will be “no hooking up with any of the players.”

But it’s never as easy as words make it seem, and [sexual] tension is bound to flare as the fit athletes who play the game so well begin to mingle with the enchanting dancers who corral their crowd.

“Hit the Floor” airs every Monday at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.
