Warning: Spoilers for the “Veronica Mars” movie ahead.”
Hey, is that really James Franco flopping around on a couch trying to put skinny jeans on in the “Veronica Mars” movie? You bet your ultra-fitted denim it is!
Rob Thomas, who created the TV series of the same name and directed and co-wrote the movie, gave MTV News the scoop on how Veronica got Franco’d.
“My producing partner, Danielle Stokdyk, her husband is an Academy Award-winning visual effects artist who happened to have just done ‘Oz the Great and Powerful.’ He had become friendly with James, and it really was easy as this: I emailed a script and said we’d love you for this part and honestly five minutes later, five minutes later, he emailed me back and said, ‘sounds fun, I’m in.'”
Um, if anyone happens to have Franco’s email address, we have a few things we’d like to ask him. For one, we have this “Fraggle Rock” feature-length, fan-funded script we’ve been toying with for a few years, and we think he’d be perfect for the lead role.
