How Did Tyga Vs. Lil Durk Turn Into A Rap Battle Royale?

Tyga and Lil Durk started the week with a run-of-the-mill rap battle, but now, the one-on-one verbal joust has turned into a full-blown battle royale. Game, Chief Keef, L.E.P. Bogus Boys and very-much incarcerated Bump J are all involved, one way or another.

So how did we get here?

According to Durk, Tyga stopped responding to his texts for a planned collaboration, so the newly crowned XXL freshman threw a jab at T-Raww on Meek Mill’s “Chiraq” track on Saturday. It only took Tyga a few days to release his response in full, but he didn’t go in alone.

In a surprising twist, Game joined Tyga on “Chiraq to LA” and delivered a scathing verse directed at Durk. It was electric and drew applause from Chief Keef, who responded to an MTV News tweet by posting the cover art for Game and Tyga’s dis track on his social media account.

The Keef tweet (and Instagram post) drew a line in the sand for Durk. “Sosa posted tyga and game diss on ig ……dats sayin f–chiraq,” he tweeted about his fellow Chicagoan.

Hope you’re still following us, because it’s about to get even more complicated.

Game used a divide-and-strategy in his “Chiraq to LA.” Not only did the Compton MC down Durk, he also shouted out a number of Chicago rap and street figures, except when he mistakenly saluted L.E.P. Bogus Boys as the “L.E.D. Bogus Boys.”

The slight didn’t sit well with L.E.P. rapper G Count, who dropped a dis track of his own on Wednesday and an accompanying music video on Thursday (May 8). “I be putting in work cuz, you don’t know sh– about Chiraq/ D—riding me to get a pass, you don’t know the G Count like that,” he raps on “F— the Game Up.”

“Next time you wanna shout out L.E.P. make sure you say it right,” Count continued.
So what’s next you ask?

Well, it doesn’t appear that the beef will die down anytime soon. On Tuesday, Durk spoke DJ MoonDawg on WGCI 107.5 in Chicago and revealed that he and Bump J, who is currently serving time in prison for a bank robbery, will issue a response to Tyga and Game.

Mentally been many places, but I’m Brooklyn’s own. Hip-hop gives me life!
