Idina Menzel And Travolta Are Total ‘Buddies,’ Even After Oscars Slip-Up

Idina Menzel was the victim of a truly savage name-slaughter earlier this month, but she’s finally responded to the culprit: “No harm, no foul.”

Nearly three weeks after John Travolta massacred her name by presenting someone named Adele Dazeem before Idina’s Oscars performance, the “Let It Go” singer, well, let it go in a cover story with Billboard.

“That threw me for a minute, but then I just got back on track and reminded myself of where I was,” Menzel said. “He was really gracious and sent this gorgeous email, and we’re buddies and it’s all cool.”

Shortly after the incident, Travolta issued a formal apology about the whole thing, saying, “I’ve been beating myself up all day. Then I thought…What would Idina Menzel say? She’d say, ‘Let it go, let it go!’ Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy ‘Frozen’ took home two Oscars Sunday night!”

In addition to his public “I’m sorry,” Idina tells Billboard that the “Hairspray” actor also sent her flowers. But even without the gesture, Menzel said the exposure only helped.

“Please,” she said. “I mean, I’ve only benefited from it.”
