Comedian, host and icon Joan Rivers is reported to be in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, after she stopped breathing during a procedure on her vocal chords at a local clinic.
The report initially came out of TMZ, though has been confirmed by sources at the NYPD, by NBC New York.
According to TMZ, Rivers reportedly stopped breathing during surgery on her throat, was rushed to Mount Sinai, and at one point her heart stopped beating.
At this time, however, Rivers is considered in critical condition. We will keep you updated on MTV News as this story develops.
