If you’re a celebrity and you’ve got beef with Justin Bieber, now may be a good time to let it be known. The hits just keep coming.
Seth Rogen called the pop star “a bit of a mother—-er” earlier this week, and the Black Keys’ Patrick Carney called him a “f–king irresponsible asshole” in an interview with Rolling Stone on Friday (May 9).
Carney’s Bieber beef is deep-rooted (kinda). His back-and-forth with the 20-year-old started last February. “He’s rich, right?” the drummer asked, rhetorically, in response to a question about Bieber not winning a Grammy. “Grammys are for like music, not for money … and he’s making a lot of money. He should be happy.”
Bieber wasn’t pleased when he caught wind of the comments, and wrote on Twitter that, “the black keys drummer should be slapped around haha.”
It’s that tweet, written over a year ago, that still has Carney incensed at Bieber.
“Justin Bieber, like a f–king irresponsible asshole, sicced 40 million Twitter followers on me because I paid him a compliment he didn’t understand,” he told the magazine on Friday. “And he shouldn’t be f–king telling his followers to slap me, and then also be doing anti-bullying bullsh–. It’s so irresponsible.
“I mean, Justin Bieber is a f–king moron,” Carney continued. “Honestly, I feel bad for him. I don’t dislike his music. I don’t listen to his music, but he needs to not conduct himself that way. Like, really, you make millions of dollars playing music, you should feel f–king lucky.”
It’s not just Bieber that the Black Keys member looks at with disgust, though. He also feels like the people on his team aren’t doing their jobs.
“If you’re a 34-year-old f–king loser like me, and you go on Justin Bieber’s Twitter account like a total pervert every time that he gets in trouble, you should look at his tweets the next day,” he said. “It’s always like, ‘I love you guys so much, always believe, never stop believing.’ He’s feeding them the Kool-Aid more and more. He pours it on heavy, though. It’s so manipulative! And whoever taught him that that was OK, whoever’s watching him and is like, ‘That manipulation is acceptable,’ should be really ashamed of themselves.”
Please, Patrick. Tell us how you really feel.
