Justin Bieber, Lorde, Britney: 11 Artists You Have To Follow On Spotify

Ever wonder what your favorite musicians are listening to? Well, wonder no longer, because now you can easily follow everyone from Lady Gaga to Lorde on Spotify. Get ready for a whole lot of guilty pleasures — and more than a few gems.

Spotify has allowed us to follow artists and other users for a while now via its service, but Tuesday (October 1), the music-streaming platform is letting users embed follow buttons — similar to those that Facebook and Twitter offers — on any Web or mobile page. For example, if Kanye West were to add one to his website and a fan were to click “follow,” Kanye’s activity will automatically start showing up in his or her Spotify feed — Ye’s own music and what he’s listening to included.

Users can even add these buttons to their personal websites and blogs, should they want to share their musical taste with the world — all the info on how to do so is on Spotify’s developer blog and it’s pretty simple to suss out.

To celebrate our newfound and simplified ability to song-stalk our favorite acts, MTV News had compiled a list of 11 musicians and bands you should follow ASAP. And, bonus, we embedded their follow buttons below — so all you have to do is click.

Backstreet Boys, Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead and Prince — Mother Monster’s musical taste is apparently just as eclectic as her stable of looks for her upcoming Applause.

Drake gives props to OVO Sound signee — and fellow Canadian — PARTYNEXTDOOR via his Spotify profile, proving that his pride for his country doesn’t just extend to sports.

We’ve already established that Lorde is cooler than you, so maybe you should crib her musical taste as well — which includes TV on the Radio, alt-J, Sleigh Bells and Why?.

Justin’s personal playlist contains two — count ’em, two — Michael Jackson tracks, as well as a jam from the Jackson 5. Three guesses who his favorite artist is?

Even though they’re pretty precious with their faces, Daft Punk is totally willing to let you into their musical hearts: Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo’s contains Sky Ferreira, Phil Collins and Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, while Thomas Bangalter’s beats to MGMT, Phoenix and Carly Simon. Lose yourself to dance, guys.

This sister act gives each sibling an equal say via Spotify. Alana is into the Beach Boys, Lionel Richie and the Pretenders; Danielle digs Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan and Vampire Weekend; and Este is into David Bowie, Blood Orange and Cat Power. Which one would you rather be best friends with?

Not only does Brit have an entire playlist of workout songs (featuring the Black Eyed Peas) she also has a playlist titled “Britney’s Back To The ’80s” (featuring “Hungry Like the Wolf”). How can you not follow that?

This up-and-coming band is into a lot of up-and-came acts, including Prince, Talking Heads and Fugazi.

Ke$ha has a whole playlist dedicated to her cat, Mr. Peep$. He’s really into Stevie Wonder, Blur and Hank Williams. I think we’re done here.

Jared Leto and Co. have five playlists just packed with tracks from Nirvana, Misfits, Arcade Fire, Mazzy Star and more. Love, lust, faith and dreams — these playlists have it all.

Kathleen Hanna recently returned with new band the Julie Ruin and we’re glad she did — if not to just to cop some musical suggestions from the band’s Spotify feed. From Ol’ Dirty Bastard to Disclosure to Mykki Blanco, we’re not about to “run fast” from this feed.
