Justin Bieber Wraps World Tour With Surprise Show For Typhoon Victims

Justin Bieber is officially done with his “Believe” world tour, but on Tuesday he tacked one more date on when he made an unexpected visit to the Philippines. The singer, who has been urging Beliebers to donate funds to the victims of last month’s devastating typhoon Haiyan — which killed nearly 6,000 and displaced millions — played a special acoustic show for his fans in the island nation.

“About to perform the last #believetour show. The real last one and the most important one of the tour. #GiveBackPhilippines,” he wrote on Tuesday, urging his followers to make the hashtag #pray4philippines a worldwide trend. Justin called the trip the “most touching” one of his life, posting an image of himself reaching out to hug a child.

In addition to meeting some fans in the Philippines, Bieber gifted them with the special acoustic show in the affected areas, which he said “changed my life.” According to the aid organization Bieber has been working with, Prizeo, Justin’s Haiyan relief campaign has raised $600,000 so far. As part of the unplugged set Bieber sang his Christmas tune “Mistletoe” as well as the new “Music Mondays” single “All That Matters.”

His fans clearly appreciated the gesture from the singer who has been making heartfelt pleas for help for weeks
during a time when the focus has often been on his less charitable extracurricular activities. One wrote, “Wow! You make people of the Philippines happy. Thank you very much coming from a Filipina here in Japan.”
