Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s upcoming wedding has already become one of the most talked-about events in pop culture.
After slipping the 15-carat sparkler on Kim’s finger, Kanye has been hitting up radio stations to promote his Yeezus tour and apologize to the world’s male population for “turning up so much” with his over-the-top engagement at San Francisco’s AT&T Park. And since Kimye have been spilling some wedding details, MTV News rounded up everything we know … and added a bit of our own speculation.
Italian Summer Wedding?
Kim and Kanye are set to walk down the aisle “next summer,” but the question now is: where and when? Well, Kanye may have given us some clues back in 2012. On his track “White Dress,” Kanye foreshadows that his fianceée will rock a “diamond from Lorraine.”
Kim already got her Lorraine Schwartz rock, so maybe the song has clues about the date and location too. “Let’s fly to Euro and make this the best summer ever/ Now, she’s heading to Rome, Rome is home,” Kanye raps on the track. “Wedding in June, what could be better?”
When Kim stopped by “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Wednesday, she said “maybe Italy” when asked about the location (it’s where she got pregnant with daughter North). As for the date, keep the calendar clear for June 8, which will mark Kanye’s 37th birthday, which seems fitting since the two got engaged on Kim’s 33rd.
Runway To Wedding
During an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Kanye admitted he would be “very involved” in the wedding planning. “I’d like to get the people who do the Chanel [runway] shows,” he said.
Shouldn’t be too difficult for Kanye, since he and head designer Karl Lagerfeld go way back. Lagerfeld most recently shot a dramatic photo spread of Kim, while eight months pregnant, for ex-French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book.
Lagerfeld might have his work cut out for him, though, since Yeezy also raps on “White Dress” that he pictures his bride-to-be in a white dress with a “30-foot train.”
Lights, Camera, Wedding!
Chances are you’re not on the guest list for the Kimye wedding but not to worry: You may just get the best seat in the house! Kanye revealed that he would broadcast his wedding to Kim, who aired her extravagant wedding to Kris Humphries on E! — if the price is right.
“I would take as much as possible,” he said on L.A.’s Power 106. “What’s official for everybody in this room and everybody on this globe right now is them bills. If you can help out with those bills, because you know me and Kim are in the exploitation business. We get paid to exploit ourselves.”
Kim Kardashian Goes West
Once the happy couple say their “I do’s,” Kim will be headed in a whole new direction: West. The reality starlet will ditch her iconic double K initials for her fiancé’s last name, much like her sister, Khloe, did when she married Lamar Odom. “Kim Kardashian West, no hyphen. Make it [Kardashian] the middle,” Kim told E! News.
