Kanye West And T.I. Give Travis Scott ‘The Best Of Both Worlds’

Some rappers can’t even get one deal, but rapper/producer Travis Scott has two. Scott recently announced that he has signed to T.I.‘s Grand Hustle label as a rapper, but as a producer he is signed to Kanye West. That can lead to some pretty complicated paperwork, but the Houston spitter sees it as a win-win.

“They’re both part of my life in this whole music sh–. It’s cool because you get the best of both worlds. You got both of these guys who are extremely super talented,” Scott told MTV News earlier this month.

The youngster made an attention-grabbing appearance on last year’s Sin City, an album cut from G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer compilation, and now he is putting the finishing touches on his own upcoming Owl Pharaoh project. Confident and headstrong, Scott has learned to trust his own instincts in the studio, but having Tip and Yeezy to bounce ideas off of doesn’t hurt. “I look at them like a reliable source to turn around and be like, ‘Aye listen to this or aye check this out,’ running it through their brains,” he said. “I’m very hands on with my stuff. So it’s just really good having those guys around, man.”

Owl Pharaoh‘s latest single, “Upper Echelon,” features T.I. and 2 Chainz. The track has a distinct southern feel with a dash of outer worldliness, a combination that Travi$ says he will continue to embody in his music. “I’m from the South, but I float in a different realm I feel like,” he said.
