From her music to her personal life, it’s been a year of transformation for Miley Cyrus.
Last month, Cyrus and “Hunger Games” star Liam Hemsworth officially called off their engagement after four years of dating. But in the December issue of Cosmopolitan, which features Miley on the cover, the star tells the magazine she hasn’t been sulking. In fact, she says, “This is the best time of my life.
“I need to treat my music like a relationship — give it my time and all the attention it deserves — and that’s my main love right now,” Cyrus said. “I’m not going to look back on it and be like, ‘I wish I hadn’t been dwelling over a breakup,’ you know? Because that’s not what God wants my life to be about right now. God wants my life to be about being successful and being happy and blessing other people and being blessed.”

Cyrus goes on to say that her life may be “chaotic and crazy,” but “everything is falling into place like it’s supposed to.” And even with an upcoming 2014 tour and Bangerz debuting at #1 on the Billboard charts, she still feels like she has something to prove.
“I don’t want to say that I’m on top right now — I feel like I’m kind of an underdog in a cool way,” she admitted. “It’s almost punk rock to like me because it’s not the right thing to do. Like, society wants to shut me down.”
However, despite some of haters that surfaced after her controversial MTV VMA performance back in August, Miley revealed that she’s got some major star power in her corner, including her 2008 VMA date Katy Perry and Kanye West, who has hooked up with Cyrus to record a remix of his song “Black Skinhead.”
“It’s easy for Kanye to support me because we’re in totally separate lanes of competition,” Miley told Cosmo. “But for Katy to say that she appreciates what I’m really doing for the pop industry, that keeps you going. And I mean, who cares what the media buzz is if Kanye West is telling you that you’re the sh–?”
