Scott Mescudi, better known to hip-hop fans as Kid Cudi, co-stars with “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul, and the recording artist told Josh Horowitz that the movie will not disappoint.
“As soon as you’re in the theater, you’re on a ride,” Cudi said. “It makes going to the movies fun again.”
The actor/rapper added that fans were ecstatic after a preview screening of the movie: “It’s a beautiful thing to see people to say, ‘Yo, you made me laugh.’ It’s a different experience.”
Mescudi also had nothing but kind words for his co-star Paul.
“He’s a genuine dude,” Mescudi said. “He comes from humble beginnings. He worked hard to have everything he has right now. … It’s just awesome.”
Since “Need for Speed” is an action movie, Mescudi got to experience some of the crazy stunts first-hand, doing them in the air with “two different helicopters and one Cessna plane … it was a bit nerve-racking.”
But he overcame those nerves. “I flew that plane,” Mescudi laughed. “You’re damn right I did.”
Catch “Need for Speed,” out March 14, and see the new trailer for the movie during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
