For two decades, Hot 97’s Summer Jam has brought hip-hop’s best talent to one place every summer. This year’s lineup proves that they’ve got no plans to change that formula.
On Wednesday afternoon (April 2), the New York radio station announced this year’s bill. The slate offers a welcomed mix of acts from the Big Apple and outside the city; new and old; crew and individual.
The epic show, which goes down at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on June 1, features two stages. On the main stage, known as the SummerJam Stage, NYC titans like 50 Cent and Nas, as well as heavyweights Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Young Money will serve as anchors. In addition, West Coast young guns Kid Ink, Ty Dolla $ign and YG and DJ Mustard will all take the stage, complimented by East Coast upstarts Troy Ave and Action Bronson. Summer Jam vets Wiz Khalifa and Trey Songz return, while the Roots and singer Sevyn Streeter make their first appearances.
In the parking lot outside of the stadium, before the big show kicks off, Hot 97 sets up a more intimate Festival Stage. That will be populated by Childish Gambino, Iggy Azalea, Nipsey Hussle, Chinx, Jhené Aiko, Mack Wilds and August Alsina.
Tickets are available now through Ticketmaster.
