Do you feel that tingling sensation in your heart? The kind of swelling, throbbing, oh-my-god-what’s-even-happening-to-me feeling?
Get used to it, because it’s only going to get worse until May 25. What you’re feeling, friends, is pure feeling.
At least, that’s how we’re choosing to interpret our lives since Ryan Murphy unveiled character posters for Matt Bomer and Mark Ruffalo‘s roles in “The Normal Heart” via Twitter this morning (April 22).
“The Normal Heart” will finally premiere on HBO late next month, after being in the works for actual years. Ruffalo confirmed to MTV way back in 2010 that he had signed onto the project, saying of the screenplay, “It’s really powerful and strong and beautiful.”
The script is by Larry Kramer, adapted from his play of the same name. The plot chronicles the plight of gay activists in the early ’80s, pushing for more recognition, research and treatment for HIV and AIDS as the death toll rises. Ruffalo plays Ned Weeks, an outspoken proponent of the movement.
The trailer for the flick was released recently, and between that and these posters, it looks like we need to prepare ourselves for a whole lot of feeling this Memorial Day weekend.
Julia Roberts, Taylor Kitsch and Jim Parsons also star. Ryan Murphy directs.
