With a VMA performance to prep, Miley Cyrus took a break on Thursday (August 15) afternoon to chat with fans on Twitter. For about an hour, the singer got her Smilers hype for her forthcoming album, Bangerz, before making a major announcement.
Cyrus (cleverly) responded to questions tagged with #votemiley — the same hashtag VMA voters must use to cast votes for her in the Best Song of the Summer category at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
During the Q&A, the singer revealed the moment she knew the album had to be called Bangerz.
“I had no preconceived ideas w/ this record,” Miley said. “The album revealed its name about 8 songs in when I realized we got [nothing] but #bangerz. All ya gotta do is listen to my record once and you’ll know exactly why my record is called #BANGERZ #nothinbut.”
She also shared that the 13-song album “is filled with LOVE. Anything you do out of love can’t lose.” Big Sean, Future, French Montana (who she was recently spotted in the studio with) and Nelly will make appearances on the album. And while Cyrus said she’s going to “KEEP SOME SURPRISES,” she previously confirmed that Ludacris will also appear on the release.
Although it seemed Cyrus had wrapped things up, she soon hopped back on Twitter to tease that she “just received the official release date of #BANGERZ, adding, “who wants to knowwwww.” Smilers can now look forward to the VMAs on Sunday, August 25, and her solo LP on October 8. In addition to performing, Miley is up for four Moonmen at the big show in Brooklyn.
