Miley Cyrus Welcomes New Dog Moonie, But Wonders: Is It ‘Too Soon’?

Ever since Miley Cyrus‘ dog Floyd passed away, she’s trying to take things “one day at a time,” and to help her ease the pain, she has a new canine friend.

On Friday, the “We Can’t Stop” singer posted a photo on Twitter showing off her adorable new puppy, Moonie, a gift from her mom, Trish.

However, despite the addition of Moonie, Miley is still struggling with the loss of her beloved rescue dog and wondering if it was “too soon” to get another dog since she still has “so much love to give my Floydy.”

Miley took over Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday, when she once again paid tribute to Floyd, by singing “Can’t Be Tamed” to a gigantic replica of her late dog.

“That was the hardest song of the night to do. As yawl know, because I lost my Floydie this week…Sometimes I just can’t stop from breaking down crying,” Cyrus reportedly told the crowd. “But it’s so healing for me to be here with you.”

However, even with news that she is now the May cover girl of Elle magazine’s Women in Music issue, Miley is still telling fans that she’s in “excruciating pain,” and that even her other dog, Mary Jane, “misses Floyd too.”

Feel better soon, Miley!
