Mumford & Sons Set New Tour Dates As Bassist Maintains ‘Steady Recovery’

Mumford & Sons can’t be kept down for long. Just two weeks after bassist Ted Dwane underwent brain surgery to remove a blood clot, the band has confirmed they will all be back onstage this weekend for the U.K.’s Glastonbury Festival — and for a North American tour kicking off in August.

“All we feel is incredibly grateful and happy that he’s going to be OK, and that we’re going to get back out on that stage at Glastonbury as four brothers and do what we do,” keyboardist Ben Lovett told Radio Times magazine, according to Billboard. In addition to taking the stage together this weekend, the band has confirmed that they have rescheduled the tour dates they canceled after he was hospitalized.

“Firstly, we are pleased to report that our beloved Ted is making a steady recovery from his operation and wearing his newly acquired shaven-headed hairstyle with enviable levels of suave,” the statement on the band’s website reads. “A huge, huge thank you to all for your messages of support; the man himself is rather overwhelmed.”

In addition to the rescheduled tour dates, the band also announced The Full English Tour, a North American jaunt kicking off August 26 in Toronto. After it wraps up in South Carolina on September 11, the band will play their four rescheduled dates in New Orleans, Texas and Kansas.
