On Tuesday, Bieber posted a photo (that has since be deleted) posed in front of the Yasukuni Shrine that was later revealed to be a controversial site honoring war criminals. Bieber claims to have been ignorant of the meaning of the place, later saying he was “mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer. To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry.”
