Paul Walker’s Death Is ‘Painful For Everybody,’ Says ‘Fast 6’ Co-Star

As friends, family and fans continue to mourn the sudden loss of “Fast & Furious” actor Paul Walker, “Fast 6” co-star Luke Evans joins the chorus of stars still grappling with the loss.

“I am still processing it, as I’m sure most people around the world are,” Evans told MTV News on Monday (December 2) as he conducted interviews promoting his latest film, Peter Jackson’s

Walker died Saturday afternoon in a fiery car crash in Southern California along with friend Roger Rodas. Walker was a passenger in the red Porsche Carrera GT as he was leaving a charity event for his Reach Out Worldwide organization, benefitting those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

“It’s tragic,” said Evans, offering his condolences to Walker’s family. “It’s untimely and painful for everybody who knew him personally and publically.”

Evans, who joined the Universal franchise as gang leader Owen Shaw in “Fast 6,” out earlier this year, said that Walker was extremely welcoming when he arrived on set.

“He was a wonderful man. He was a really, really warm human being and a very generous guy,” Evans said. “He made me feel very welcome on the set when I worked with him.”

The future of which was on a brief hiatus from production at the time of Walker’s death, remains unclear. Currently, the film is slated for a July 11 debut, though it remains to be seen if Universal will delay the release. Walker is also slated to appear on the big screen later this month in the indie thriller “Hours,” in which he plays a new father battling to keep his newborn daughter alive in an abandoned hospital during Hurricane Katrina. That film is due out on December 18.

“He’s gonna be greatly missed by a lot of people,” Evans said.
