‘RapFix Live’ To Air Trayvon Martin Special With Wyclef Jean, Styles P And Prodigy

The aftermath of Saturday’s not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial has left many young people asking: Where do we go from here?

“RapFix Live” will attempt to tackle that tough question and address other communal concerns with rapper and activist Wyclef Jean, Prodigy, Styles P, DJ Khaled and many more on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET/ 1 p.m. PT on MTV Jams and RapFix.MTV.com.

After two days of deliberation, a Sanford, Florida jury found George Zimmerman not guilty in the February 2012 shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin, igniting protests from New York to Los Angeles. Artists and celebrities have expressed their thoughts through social networking sites and some through song.

Young Jeezy released his Trayvon dedication Raheem Devaughn and Styles P put out and Wyclef dropped the video for The latter follows a teenager walking down the street in a hooded sweatshirt, talking to his girlfriend on the phone, in an effort to mirror Trayvon’s last moments before he was fatally shot. “He could’ve been the next president, he could’ve been the next Steve Jobs,” ‘Clef sings in a reggae-tinged melody.

Last year, a month after Trayvon’s death, Killer Mike and Prodigy appeared on to discuss their feelings on the case. Mike called it “an assassination,” and Prodigy, who checked in to the show via Skype, believed that Zimmerman murdered the teen. “The dude, Zimmerman, I don’t know what he thought he was doing, but he murdered that kid for no reason,” Pee said.

Prodigy will return to the show to discuss his feelings, following the not guilty verdict and we will have special guests Skype in, as well as take your questions and comments via Twitter.
