It was a scary weekend for Raz-B, but now the former B2K singer is in stable condition he was reportedly on life support and in a coma in a hospital in China.
Sources close to the singer say that Raz is now breathing on his own, awake and responsive according to TMZ. During a show in China on Thursday, the as a result the 28-year crooner old was hit in the face with a glass bottle after he rushed into the crowd to break up a fight.
Raz underwent a minor surgery to stitch up a gash on his lip, then headed home and even issued a statement to TMZ after the producer was done. “F–k this sh– hurts,” he said.”I have a f—ing hole in my lip. Thank God I made it to the hospital.”
The situation worsened and when Raz-B didn’t wake up the next morning a friend rushed him to the hospital, where he was placed on a ventilator, which helped him to breathe. It was also reported that he was in and out of consciousness. “He is in a coma and needs as many prayers as possible,” the singer’s rep told TMZ.
Though he is doing better, doctors want to keep him a few more days to be monitored.
This isn’t the first time Raz has been injured while in China, where he has been touring. In 2012, the singer severely damaged his nerves after falling through a glass door at a Shanghai hotel.
Raz-B rose to fame as a member of the boy band B2K along with Omarion, Lil’ Fizz and J-Boog. The group released their self-titled debut and their sophomore album both in 2002. Together they crafted hit singles like “Bump, Bump, Bump,” “Girlfriend” and “Why I Love You,” but they split in 2003.
In 2010 Raz released his first solo mixtape titled Boy 2 King and has been touring China while working on a solo album.
