Scott Storch Warns Celebs: Robbers ‘Are On The Hunt’

Multiplatinum producer Scott Storch has a warning for all of the celebrities: make sure your security team is “right” or you’ll get robbed for your bejeweled chains and watches like he did.

“It’s a setup thing,” Storch said during his visit to the special set of “RapFix Live” Wednesday (August 21) at the Barclays Center. “I think right now people really need to make sure that when you’re in the studios… people are on the hunt right now. There’s a lot of chains and watches out there… so people gotta make sure their security is right.”

The 39-year old hitmaker, who has unleashed an uncanny amount of chart-topping hits like Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River,” 50 Cent’s “Candy Shop” and Fat Joe’s “Lean Back,” was mugged at gunpoint early Tuesday morning as he was leaving Platinum Studios near Times Square. Two gunmen demanded the beat maestro surrender his $50,000 diamond necklace and $50,000 Rolex and also made off with a briefcase belonging to a member of Storch’s entourage containing $5,000 in cash.

“I was coming out of the studio around like seven in the morning and just unexpectedly, two 7-foot thugs came out of nowhere and bam, they got me… gunpoint, yeah,” Storch said. “They said give it up or they was gonna shoot and had the gun like pressed up on me and everything. It was crazy.”

Authorities are currently reviewing the video surveillance footage for leads in the case but reveal that they have already recovered a fingerprint from one of the suspects. Stolen bling aside, Storch is just happy that no one was harmed during the robbery.

“I’m not really worried about losing that stuff,” he added. “Just as long as my family and myself are OK. We went unharmed and nothing’s gonna stop the music.”

Storch’s appearance on “RapFix Live” helped launch the VMA All Access Experience, a five-day multiscreen celebration ahead of the VMA’s live broadcast on August 25. Other guests on the dais included Big Sean, who dropped by to talk about his new LP, Hall of Fame, and artists who helped celebrate our Brooklyn Hip-Hop Week: Joey BadAss, Uncle Murda and Foxy Brown, who performed live at the top of the show. Keep it locked to the All Access stream every day until Sunday for a brand-new “RapFix Live.”
