Whoever thinks “X-Men” isn’t sexy hasn’t seen Jennifer Lawrence‘s latest photo from
One of two new stills shows Lawrence opening her coat to show off a ’70s-style little black dress as Raven Darkholm, a.k.a Mystique, the shape-shifting bad girl.
In another photo, we see JLaw back in blue body paint (a look we’ve seen before) with a gun in hand.
And while we think she looks stunning in both photos — blue or not — Lawrence told MTV News back in 2011 that she was a little hesitant to take over the role from swimsuit model Rebecca Romijn for “X-Men: First Class.”
“It would have made my job a lot easier if she wasn’t the most gorgeous person in the world,” Lawrence joke. “I was like, ‘Really?’ “
Even if it was intimidating, the actress told us her passion for the franchise made her decision a “no-brainer.”
“It is huge, but the movies are fantastic and I watched them and became a huge fan,” she explained. “After reading the script, I really loved the script and I loved the character and I was already a fan of the director, [Matthew Vaughn], and I was already a fan of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, so then it became a little bit more of a no-brainer.”
“X-Men: Days of Future Past,” which hits theaters on May 23, also stars Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and more.
