For those of you scratching your heads as to why Selena Gomez named her upcoming concerts the Stars Dance World Tour, look no further for your answer. During “MTV First: Selena Gomez” she told us all about the trek, starting in August.
“It’s actually a track on the record and I just felt it was a perfect name for every track that’s on the album,” Gomez said. “They have their own individual stamp and style to it, but with this tour and wanting to incorporate more of the performing aspect, I thought it was the perfect way for kicking it off.”
Gomez, who revealed that she loves channeling Britney Spears, admitted she’s already started hitting the gym to get in shape for the tour, which is something she never does.
“I want it almost to tell, not necessarily a story, but I want it to feel like a big rave,” Gomez said. “When I started performing and I was maybe 16 or 17 half the time it was “Wizards [of Waverly Place]” fan base so it was a little bit of a younger fan base. They could not care that I was on that stage they were braiding their hair, but they were dancing and having the best time and honestly that’s what I want. Whether you go and you don’t care what I do on that stage, just have a great time I want it to feel so powerful and everybody just dance and let loose.”

Gomez will spend over three months traveling the world, but don’t expect any diva demands from this former Disney star. She confesses that there she needs only three things to keep her happy when on tour.
“Incense, pickles always,” Gomez revealed of what is on her tour rider. “I don’t know. I actually have a boring rider. I’ll be honest… ramen. That’s what I have. I’m more about food and apparently incense.”
