Your apartment building’s quiet hours mean no crazy parties, no loud music, and…no sex swings? This is the dilemma for one German man, whose landlord evicted him for regularly using a squeaky old swing set as part of his late night sexual activities.
A court in Munich ruled to uphold the landlord’s decision today. The tenant’s lease required quiet hours between 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., and his swing set antics repeatedly disturbed his neighbors with “sexual, athletic and squeaking noises” during this time period. The neighbors’ complaints then led to his eviction.

The legal problem wasn’t the sex swing’s existence in the home — it was more about what time the “very old” swing was being used. The court said the tenant’s disruptively loud use late into the night “would no longer correspond to normal rental use, and must therefore not be tolerated as socially acceptable.”
So swing set dude, wherever you are, we guess you can keep getting your squeak on — just not while everyone else around you is trying to get some shuteye.
