Just because the Sundance Film Festival is one of the most important annual events for independent film, that doesn’t mean that Hollywood’s biggest stars shy away from the fest. The reality is actually the opposite.
Sundance 2014 will be no different. The 10-day party kicks off Thursday (January 16), and a huge roster of celebrities are already down for appearances on one of Park City’s screens.
To get a quick glimpse at who will be popping up at this year’s festival, here’s a quick guide to the biggest stars of Sundance 2014.

Kristen Stewart
The former “Twilight” star takes a dramatic turn as a young guard at Guantanamo Bay and befriends a terror suspect in “Camp X-Ray.”
Aaron Paul
With “Breaking Bad” in his review mirror, Paul returns to Park City as a troubled father in the family drama “Hellion.”
Michael Fassbender
If there’s anyone who could convincingly play a mysterious musician who hides his true face under a giant head, it’s Michael Fassbender in the movie “Frank.”
Tom Hardy
For his new movie “Locke,” Tom Hardy pretty much has to carry the entire film, since it all takes place in real time and mostly as he’s driving.
Keira Knightley And Cloë Grace Moretz
Despite their age difference, the two actresses play best (possibly inappropriate) buds in the arrested development movie, “Laggies.”
Amy Poehler And Paul Rudd
Before he goes off to be Ant-Man for Marvel, Paul Rudd is reteaming with his “Wet Hot American Summer” co-star and director for a set-up for romantic comedies.
Anna Kendrick And Lena Dunham
“Girls” isn’t the only thing the Lena Dunham has done since shooting to comedy stardom. She also starred in an off-kilter holiday movie from “Drinking Buddies” writer-director Joe Swanberg, who brought back Anna Kendrick from the beer-soaked comedy.
Anne Hathaway
The Oscar winner is swapping show tunes for the Brooklyn music scene in this indie, where she plays an archaeologist who falls for a musician.
Shailene Woodley
After breaking out last year with a Sundance hit, “The Spectacular Now,” Shailene Woodley is back with “White Bird In adaptation
Zoe Saldana And Mark Ruffalo
The incredible Hulk and Gamora from “Guardians of the Galaxy” appear in their more human forms in the 70s-set family drama, “Infinitely Polar Bear.”
Kristen Wiig And Bill Hader
“SNL” alums Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader take a more serious spin in the indie drama, “The Skeleton Twins,” about siblings who try to find out how they drifted so far apart.
