It’s a big moment in any awards show: The winner’s name is called. They throw their best, most surprised expression across their face, which is projected, close-up, on giant screens in the auditorium. The decisive moment: Who does the winner choose to plant a kiss upon?
Nowhere is this victory smooch more important than at the MTV Movie Awards, when the winner of the Best Kiss category is announced.
In 2011, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart took the honors for their oral acrobatics in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” but when they arrived onstage to accept the Golden Popcorn, Pattinson wasn’t too into laying one on Stewart.
“I feel bad, because I don’t feel like kissing you,” he said, to the dismay of fans everywhere. Why, Edward?! “There’s someone else in the audience who I think will appreciate it a little more.”
Oh, suh-nap. Who?
As it turns out, that “someone” was Taylor Lautner. Poor, lonely, lone wolf Lautner. Lucky Lautner gets a dramatic smooch from Pattinson, to the delight of the audience.
