The 13 Most Fan-Tastic Moments From The mtvU Fandom Awards

“May the best fans win, dammit!”

These are the words made immortal by MTV’s own Tyler Posey, at the amazing, infectiously happy mtvU Fandom Awards straight from the ground at San Diego Comic-Con. The awards, which aired on Sunday (July 27), were a celebration of everything that makes fandom great — love, support, generosity, shippers, and Tumblr art.

Everybody from Posey to Chloë Moretz to Channing Tatum showed up to support their fandoms, with G-Eazy and and Linkin Park also stopping by to, you know, rock the house down.

And while there were so many moments that truly captured the fandom spirit, it was these 13 that were the clear highlights of an amazing show:

1. Joe Manganiello Loves “Orphan Black”

Nick Cannon loving “Pretty Little Liars” was pretty little hilarious, but Manganiello taking another dig at “True Blood” had us in stitches — especially because he got a well-deserved “Orphan Black” shout-out in, too!

“Vampire shows are lame,” he said, when convincing MTV’s Josh Horowitz to subscribe to his favorite fandom. “‘Orphan Black,’ that’s a show.”

Yes, yes it is.

2. Tyler Posey Loves Everything In General

From Batfleck to “Teen Wolf” fans to just being on stage with excited Con-goers in general, Posey was a fan of everything on Sunday, bringing his typical breed of infectious enthusiasm to the awards. We can’t wait to see him host “Teen Choice!”

3. “Game of Thrones” Honors Joffrey’s Memory; Wins “OMG Moment”

Sorry, “How I Met Your Mother” ending — it was HBO’s megahit “Thrones” that had people talking, specifically about the death of one of its most maligned characters.

“It gave something that people wanted for a long time,” Peter Dinklage explained in a video, referring, of course, to Joffrey’s death. “But now they’re so conflicted, because they’re going to miss it.”

Natalie Dormer and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau took the stage to accept the award, with Jaime Lannister himself saying, “it’s a little weird to celebrate the death of a beautiful young child — my son. But yeah, he had it coming, right?” [Note: this was met with thunderous applause.]

“I just want to say that ‘Game of Thrones’ fans are the best fans,” Dormer added, before referencing the Tyrell family motto, “Growing strong!”

Coster-Waldau then brought the house down when he gave the award to a fan, but Dormer made sure to honor her ex-castmate’s stellar work by saying: “If you could look after that, please, that’s for Jack Gleeson as well. He’s going to be missed.”

Joffrey forever!

4. Delena Wins Ship Of The Year

Real life exes (and “Vampire Diaries” stars) Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder accepted this biggie from afar, with Somerhalder joking, “our ship has been through some ups and downs, and we are not sure where we would be without your ship.”

“Our ship is going through an especially trying time, so we’ve never needed you guys more,” Dobrev added.

Then Nina made out with the trophy, probably because she thought it was another Salvatore brother. We can’t blame her.

5. G-Eazy Performs With Jay Ant

“Far Alone” is our summer jam, and we were thrilled to see it live in San Diego — and so were the fans, obviously.

6. “Teen Wolf” Wins Fandom Feat Of The Year

Aw, yay! Our hometown heroes from Beacon Hills took the stage for their admirable work in inspiring fans to raise money for a wolf sanctuary. Posey, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, and Dylan Sprayberry took the stage to accept the award, while emotions ran high. Sort of.

“Look at this s—!” an excited Posey yelped, before graciously handing the mic to the bespectacled Hoechlin.

“We just want to say thank you guys so much for the support,” Hoechlin said. “You guys have always been amazing in supporting us and the show…but to see you guys, the fans of ‘Teen Wolf,’ accomplish something by banding together — it’s just so impressive. We’re so proud of you guys — thank you for the support, thank you for what you do.”

7. Hot Neville Longbottom Accepts BFF (Best Fandom Forever) Award

Well, no one was there to accept the actual award in person (Daniel Radcliffe was too busy playing Spiderman), but verified hottie Neville Longbottom (err, Matthew Lewis) conferenced in, so. We’ll take it.

8. The “Fault In Our Stars” Cast Honors John Green

Shailene Woodley, Nat Wolff, tall guy Ansel Elgort, and a gaggle of adoring fans sent in video messages of love for “Fault in our Stars” author John Green, who won the Visionary Award for his inspiring work. Woodley shared a touching story about a fan who credited the book for helping her through cancer, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

9. Linkin Park Performs “Until It’s Gone”

Chloë Moretz gushed about the band before the performance, and you can see why — the decade-spanning artists closed out the night on a super, duper high note with their “Until It’s Gone” performance.

10. Channing Tatum Gives Us An Exclusive Look At “The Book Of Life”

Tatum brought his A-List charm to the Awards, and happily gave us an exclusive, must-see look at his new animated movie.

11. Chloë Moretz Gives Us An Exclusive Look At “If I Stay”

… And, on the other end, Moretz broke our hearts with this brand new clip from her upcoming YA tearjerker. “Fault In Our Stars” fans, watch your backs!

12. “Veronica Mars” Wins Fandom Of The Year

It was sweet watching Kat Graham, Lucy Hale, Chris Colfer, Michael Fassbender and more honor “Vampire Diries,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “Glee,” and “X-Men” fans, but we’re glad that top honors went to “Veronica Mars” this time around. I mean, come on — they paid for a freaking movie! Case closed, Neptune High style.

“‘Veronica Mars’ fans are the best,” Tina Majorino gushed as she took the stage. “You guys did this, this was a dream of ours and you made it come true, and we will forever be indebted to you.”

(You’re welcome for my $10 donation, Tina!)

13. Retta Says What We’re All Thinking About Michael Fassbender

Um, this one sort of speaks for itself. YUM!

What was your favorite moment from the Awards? Did your fandom reign supreme?
